Last year I did a countdown to New Year’s Eve showing you my favourite products from 2019 so this year I decided to do the same! So today’s countdown will be my top 5 Foundations I’ve loved through 2020! Picking 5 was hard enough so these 5 are in no particular order.
1. The Revolution Conceal & Glow foundation ,£10.99. This is my favourite drugstore foundation because it has a brilliant full coverage finish with a gorgeous satin glow and is really long lasting.
2. KVD Vegan Beauty True Portrait, £29.00. This foundation has really fun packaging that is really different to anything I’ve used before. It had a full coverage matte finish that goes from liquid to powder when applied. I love using this because it feels so lightweight on your skin and yet has such a good coverage.
3. M.A.C Studio Fix Fluid Foundation ,£29.00. This foundation is a old favourite of mine and recently I’ve been wearing it more and more. It has a buildable (medium to full), long lasting, satin matte finish. I like wearing this when I want something again lightweight but gives me good coverage.
4. Nars Sheer Glow Foundation ,£32.00. Out of all the products I have had suggested for me to try this product by far the most demanded. This viral foundation is a full coverage foundation which is glowy leaving your skin with a beautiful satin finish. This foundation is by far my favourite glowy foundation and honestly converted me from just wearing matte foundations all the time. It has a lovely long lasting formula that feels really creamy on the skin.
5. Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation ,£34.00. For my last choice I had to choose a tilbury foundation. This foundation is a demi-matte, full coverage finish but unlike other foundation this product is made with skincare ingredients so it’s treating your skin while you wear it. This really leaves your skin with a gorgeous airbrush finish that really looks like a filter.
And there we have my favourites! Hope this gives you some ideas for new foundations to try and if you want more details about them just use the search bar for full reviews on each product.
I was going through the Charlotte Tilbury website just to browse ( I swear!) and I came across a foundation I haven’t tried before. So when I did my last order You get to pick 2 sample products to come with your delivery so I decided to get the magic foundation sheet. Basically comes with samples from the first 6 shades in the range so I could colour match myself since stores don’t have samples at the moment. So after matching myself I picked up the perfect shade in the Magic Foundation.
The Magic Foundation i picked you is shade Fair 2 for £34.00. This foundation is a long-lasting, Demi-matte, buildable foundation that leaves your skin with perfect flawless making your skin looking smooth. Like most Charlotte Tilbury products this foundation had skincare ingredients designed to moisturise and smooth skin for the perfect complexion. It smooths the appearance of lines and wrinkles to give your skin the perfect matte foundation. I also love that this foundation has SPF15.
Now previously I have triedthe wonder light foundation which is the most natural light coverage, radiant foundation from the collection. I have also tried the Airbrush Flawless foundation which is the newest foundation that is a matte full coverage long lasting foundation. And the Magic foundation fits in between those foundations which kinda explains why I missed it before. The Magic foundation was the original matte foundation and I would describe it as a medium to full coverage whereas airbrush is full full coverage so it’s the perfect in the middle. When I first applied this foundation i found it very liquidie when I first applied it but once I buffed in the foundation it dried into a gorgeous powder matte style finish. On the skin this foundation feels very lightweight on the skin and doesn’t feel heavy or make the skin look dull which some matte foundations can from time to time. This foundation is more like a foundation serum so great to treat your skin while wearing it and even better I’ve worn this lots of times under my face mask and it never moves which is amazing!
So if you’re looking to try out a new long lasting matte foundation I would highly recommend this foundation if you like luxury beauty and if you’re looking for a bargain sign up to the Tilbury newsletter and you’ll get 10% off your first order which doesn’t sound like a lot but it all helps out doesn’t it!
We all know I absolutely adore all things Charlotte Tilbury and the products I used the most from the brand are foundations. I can honestly say I tried , tested and loved every foundation Charlotte has released. Now I have had time to try out the Beautiful Skin foundation and use the original foundations more I wanted to create a little guide chatting you through each foundation so you can find your perfect match! We will be chatting through all the details of each foundation and will go in order of release so let's get started.
Let's start with the Light Wonder Foundation , £34.00. When I wear this foundation I use shade 1 Fair which is for fairest skin with neutral undertones as I am very pale and usually wear the fairer shades. Light Wonder is the type of foundation you would pick if you wanted a sheer to light coverage foundation with a glowy finish. This was one of the first glowy base foundations from Charlotte but I would say due to the sheerness this foundation is almost like tinted moisturiser. I tend to use this product when I want something as close to my natural skin that can be used to even my complexion but almost look like I'm not wearing anything. So if you like your foundation to look as natural as possible this would be your perfect match.
Next up we have the Magic Foundation, £34.00 and in this range I wear shade 1 which again is described as Fairest with neutral undertones. Unlike the first foundation, Magic foundation is a demi - matte, long lasting, buildable coverage product that creates a flawless smooth base. It also includes skincare ingredients to moisturise your skin and make your skin look smoother and plump. I really like this foundation because it gives my skin a nice demi-matte finish which basically means a matte base with subtle shine in the formula. It's the perfect foundation if you want a long lasting, medium coverage foundation that still gives your skin a glow finish but more subtle than Light Wonder.
Now we have my holy grail foundation I use the most with the Airbrush Flawless Foundation £34.00 in shade 1 Neutral. This is Charlotte's most full coverage, matte foundation and by far my most used. This foundation leaves your skin looking poreless and flawless throughout the day. I have tried all the foundations with a face covering and it's the foundation that lasted the longest on my skin. Considering it's a matte, full coverage formula, it still feels as hydrating as the Magic Foundation which is pretty impressive. If you want a full coverage foundation and enjoy a matte finish like myself then this is your new bestie.
Lastly we have Charlotte's most recent release the Beautiful Skin Foundation, £34.00 in shade 1 Neutral. This hydrating medium coverage foundation designed to make your skin look smoother, plumper and brighter. As a result of the ingredients used to create this foundation, the ingredients help to treat and improve your skin the more times you use it. Compared to the other foundations like Light Wonder, this foundation has the most glowy finish on your face but has more of a medium coverage like the Magic Foundation. It's kinda like they took the best out of those foundations and created this product. This foundation really surprised me with how much I love wearing it since my favourite foundation is usually a matte full coverage formula. This foundation is great for all skin types but I feel like dry skin types will really appreciate the hydration this foundation gives your skin.
There we have it friends my guide to Charlotte Tilbury foundations, hope you find this post helpful and if you want to ask any questions about the foundations let me know in the replies.
In a few days time Charlotte Tilbury is bringing out a brand new foundation which has got me so excited! I adore foundations from Charlotte Tilbury because they always look amazing on the skin and she has a great range of formulas and coverages. She has Light Wonder foundation which is a light coverage glowy foundation and of course Airbrush Flawless foundation which is a matte full coverage formula.
But today I wanted to chat to you about one of her foundations that recently I've been using a lot more. We are chatting about the Magic Foundation , £34.00. I have had this foundation for a while but I realised I actually needed a shade lighter and after getting the correct shade I have a whole new level of love. This foundation originally came out between Light Wonder and Airbrush Flawless Foundation and it's the perfect foundation if you want a more medium coverage than light wonder but more of a demi matte finish.
Magic Foundation is designed to be a demi-matte, long-lasting, buildable coverage formula that creates a flawless complexion. The skincare ingredients in this foundation are designed to help moisturise and smooth your skin for a plumper-looking complexion. For reference in Magic Foundation I wear 1 Fair, in Light Wonder I switch between shades 1 & 2 and in Airbrush Flawless Finish I'm shade 1N.
I have to admit recently I have really enjoyed wearing this foundation because it still gives me the coverage I love but this time it gives me a demi - matte with a subtle glow finish, so it looks more like skin. I honestly get so many compliments with my skin when I wear this foundation because my skin looks so blurred and smooth, it's like a filter. This foundation was the first formula to smooth your skin from Charlotte before Airbrush Flawless came out.
I adore this foundation so if you're looking for a demi-matte, healthy glow medium coverage foundation you should check out this foundation linked above. Once the new foundation is released I promise I order it as quick as I can and do a comparsion with Light Wonder.
