why IS pop punk seen as the poser punk
tbh, I think it has a lot to do with pop punk, emo, and scene coming up and existing at around the same time. That and pop punk is a bit different from classic punk just in general.
emo being distinct from punk in the way that goth is distinct from punk.
scene being the group that was involved in the scene for the scene alone, not the music or the historic culture.
And all these groups tended towards similar music such as MCR, Greenday, and Simple Plan.
At least thats my take on it. Would love to hear other people's thoughts.
