Being a media and information literate requires certain skills such as critical thinking. We must always be aware of and check whether the message we are sending is truly educational or informative. Instead of spreading false information, let us use media and the internet in the most appropriate and literate possible manner, such as having adequate feedback, comments, and ideas on a specific topic, and spreading new knowledge and information that will help and improve a particular idea or anything that will benefit our society. We have an advanced knowledge in terms of giving and gathering of information. This skill will be able to identify the majority of false and accurate information in various types of media. Individuals with information and media literacy can analyze and make educated decisions as users of information and media, as well as become skilled developers and producers of their own information and media messages.
Media literacy provides information in different ways through TV programming, social media apps, and newspapers. It is about content of media that uses a range of tools in providing information to the public. For today's learners, information and media literacy is essential because it promotes problem-solving approaches and thinking skills such as asking questions and seeking answers, gathering information, forming opinions, evaluating sources, making decisions, resulting in successful learners, effective contributors, confident individuals, and responsible citizens. As a media and information literate individual, we’re confident that we all comprehend what a visually literate individual is and does. We frequently rely on our own experiences and practice to recognize such features. The widespread appropriation and ownership of media literacy outside of the media arts means that skills and performance are built on a construct of practice that is not largely reliant on visual imagery and is especially unrelated to visual image creation.
