Arkham, by the way, is the small town in Massachusetts where the majority of H.P. Lovecraft's stories take place. Awhile back I thought it up for Lily and I's list of AUs but never did anything with it. I'm writing this in an alternate 50's, allowing certain characters to properly have the roles they've been given. And for now, I'm only doing the trolls
Mainuk Erebus/ Michael: The son of a wealthy businessman and an author, Michael and his family came to Arkham to spread his father's business and help his mother come up with new stories. While a great gentleman first and foremost, it seems that the more comfortable he is with you, the more of an attitude he gets. After a strange incidence in his manor, he becomes caught up in a private detective's investigation into the town itself.
Dianna Lunest: The only female private detective in Arkham and the daughter of an ex-soldier, Dianna has a town-wide reputation for being a skeptic and punch-happy, which often helps her solve her cases through intimidation. Despite her extremely gruff attitude, she is a very kind-hearted person and is always trying to help the people of Arkham, though she may be in over her head with her newest case, having to delve deep into the town's history to find a missing person.
Pyllos Thebes/ Nikolai Andreovich: The son of two politicians, Nikolai is generally regarded as an oddity, since thirty years of his parents' marriage resulted in no child until they visited a town calls Innsmouth, returning with his mother pregnant. While outwardly nice and respectful, Nikolai is reportedly troubled with nightmares of a Old God that calls itself Dagon, and anger issues that can almost always only be calmed by his best friend, Corrine.
Carein Oriene/ Wren Orion: The son of a watchmaker and his medium wife, Their other son was drafted during The Great War and when they received news that he had died, both of them retreated into their works, the father dedicated to making the perfect clock, and the mother obsessed with communing with her son's spirit. On the seventh day after Wren's birth, his mother succeeded in opening a door to the spirit world. But in her exhausted state, she could not close it, and let loose many a malicious spirit that latched onto her newborn child and tormented him. The only solace Wren had was the spirit of his brother watching over him and books, since his family rarely let him leave their home. Now in his young adulthood, he has somehow befriended the son of the police chief.
Heylel Fortun/ Lucifer Park: His father immigrated to America from Korea fifteen years ago, Arkham being one of the only places readily accepting him. His father's intelligence and ingenuity landed him the position of police chief within a few years. In recent years, Lucifer has taken position as his assistant, despite protest from within the force that he only got the job from being the chief's son. While very well behaved, Lucifer has a desire for adventure, something he might get from his newfound friendship with the spirit-stricken Wren.
Cylene Tiyche/ Corrine Fernandez: A second-generation Spanish girl living in the "poor district" of Arkham, Corrine is loved by almost everyone who knows her for her sweet disposition, sharp wits, and dreams of flying. After almost drowning at the pier and her subsequent rescue by the young man Nikolai, the two have become fast friends. Though Corrine shrugs off Nikolai's growing obsession with her, she does worry that he'll end up getting himself in trouble. Her natural curiosity gets her into the darker areas of Arkham.
Cytera Aphros/ Reza Hyderi: An American-born middle-eastern girl raised by her mother, a successful fashion designer. They moved to Arkham from Boston to see if there was any inspiration for her mother's line. She quickly became friends with Michael Erebus, and the two talk clothes and food often. Since becoming friends with Michael, she has befriended others, and also has had to pull him out of trouble more than once. His parents are eternally grateful for her friendship with him.
Teklav Liyssa/ Theodore Lysander: A boy with many an attitude problem, he relegates most of his time to working at the docks and various small jobs around Arkham, anything to keep him away from home. Despite his violent and brash tendencies, Theo managed to befriend a flowershop assistant by the name of Mina, who introduced him to her friends. He wouldn't say it, but he'd give his life to keep Mina safe. And in a town like Arkham, that might be how it ends.
Apello Kouros/ Apollo Karros: Half Greek and half British, Apollo's family came into Arkham for one reason. To exploit the "slow" citizens of the town and earn some money. His father started the first big corporation in Arkham, a medical corporation, and bought Apollo's happiness with gifts and the classy life. Since coming to town, Apollo has been having visions of both the near and far-flung futures, and has decided to put them to use for his own selfish gain.
Seilou Keaton/ Seilou Marchons: Brought up on the silent comedies and Vaudevillian era, Seilou rarely speaks, and when she does, it's blunt and often harsh criticism. She has lived in Arkham all her life, and knows more about the town than she lets on. She has recently caught the eye of the selfish Apollo, who treats her half like a friend, and half like he's expecting her to sleep with him. If it weren't for his father's power and influence, she would strangle him.

Hello Journal,
We did it, Journal. Last night, we protected the other teams as they escaped The Scratch. Now we can sit back and celebrate. Though, I may have been premature with my own celebration. As soon as the first group went through to the other side, I... I kissed her. It was something that overtook me at the moment, and I apologized profusely afterwards. And then Dianna kissed me back. It was the icing on the cake, as the humans say.
Pyllos almost killed Teklav for injuring Cylene all that time ago, but luckily Cylene's ascension into God Tier managed to stop him. As you know, she and Teklav were the last of us to ascend, and that's counting the humans. Teklav was proud of himself, and I think Mina was even more proud. Such an unorthodox relationship, a Matespritship between a troll and a human, but nobody can deny Mina's wonderful influence on Teklav. His smiles no longer seem forced, and I believe it's the first time in his life he's told someone he loved them.
The humans are fitting in well too. My palemate Cytera seems to have grown close to the human Ruby, which is good. She deserves someone nice.
Also, I--
He's here. The green one we were warned about. Good gog, I can feel his power alone. I... Goodbye Journal. I must go tell the others to prepare.
Whatever he plans on doing, we shall do our best to defend ourselves.
((Just wanted to write this. Probably won't write more.))
I was already sitting in the meeting, toying with my favorite bow tie, when I saw her for the first time. That teal hair of hers to match her eyes. She looked odd amongst this group, and carried herself with an air of strength that wasn't exactly standard in here. For some reason, I couldn't keep my eyes off her. The lessons they taught in the meeting and the stories other members told all blurred past as I sat there, trying to figure out what made this girl so special. Thankfully she didn't notice.
When the meeting ended, I rushed to get my things together and say goodbye to everyone. I wanted to get to talk to this girl before she left. She was nowhere inside, but when I ran out... there she was. I caught up to her as quietly as I could, but as I summoned the courage to speak, she spoke first. "What the hell do you want?" The blunt tone almost crushed me, but I quickly recovered. "Well... I-I um... I saw you inside, and y-you don't seem to have any problems. I apologize if I'm intruding!" My voice got that hushed and submissive sound to it, and I mentally winced.
After I spoke, the girl turned and gave me a hard look. I stood silently and gave her a smile in return, which she scoffed at and went back to her original position. "My name is Mainuk. Though, my friends call me Michael. Not sure where that came from." As I began to ramble on account of nerves, I made a mental note to attempt to shut the hell up. I was unsuccessful. "I mean, it's nicer to be called Michael than Mainuk but, where does that transition come in? Oh god. I'm rambling. I apologize! You probably think I'm weird!" She didn't even give me a look as she spoke. "I do think you're weird. Look... Michael. My apartment is only a block away now and I'd rather walk by myself." I straightened rather ungracefully, "Oh yes! I'm sorry! My home is actually..." I spun around, peeering down the streets. "The other way." I let out a nervous chuckle and she simply rolled her eyes and walked away. It wasn't until she was gone from sight that I realized I never learned her name.
As I walked in my apartment, I was beseiged by my roommate. "Hey! Michael! How'd the meeting go?" I smiled at her and put my things down on a random chair. "Well Miss Cytera, there was this girl there." She shot up in curiosity, and a sly grin grew on her face. "Please, continue!" I laughed, "I didn't catch her name. But she was... different. She had this bright teal hair and didn't really seem like everyone else." Cytera giggled, "Are you in love, mister Michael?" She practically purred the question at me. "No, no! You know me and how I am about all that stuff. I'm just... interested."
What is this fluttering feeling in your stomach? You're shocked you never saw how amazing Dianna is before. You want to tell everyone about the great and emotional girl she really is, but you know none of them will believe you. Or they might tease her about it, and you don't want that. So for now, you're going to stare at her chumhandle with a stupid grin on your face.
What you don't know is that a tiny part of your brain has totally just realized that you're head over heels flushed for her.
