Just how long had it been since Isaac had heard from Howl? When he found an invitation to come over for tea and conversation Isaac jumped at the chance, and had Hermes send him over to Howl’s world. Oh how he missed his friend. One of the few people who truly was sympathetic to Isaac’s former girl problem. Ah, but now that had all be resolved on Isaac’s end and he was excited to report the cause to Howl.

Already beaming with anticipation, Isaac knocked on his friend’s door. “Good day, Howl. It’s your friend, Isaac.” He called from the other side, almost bouncing as he wanted for the door to open.

“Thank you for your worry, Howl, but I’ll be fine.” She had been hurt worse before so this was nothing. Besides, she was only going to do a small errand! Estelle knew it might make it worse by moving around but she wasn’t going far. “I promise I won’t take long, okay?”

“I must say, I didn’t expect to see a familiar face here of all places,” Richard’s brief moment of surprise quickly fades into a fond smile. “It’s been some time, old friend.”

“Do you know the best areas to stock up on healing herbs? I’m more familiar with the woods by my home than the land here.” He stood outside the city enjoying the temporary reprieve from the Shepherd’s duty. While he enjoyed observing humanity, sometimes he could be overwhelmed by all the hustle and bustle of people going about their everyday business. Taking care of his errands outside the way he knew best gave him the space he needed.

“I’m going on a journey and I want to be well supplied.”

“I’d LOVE to have some tea with you,” said he, charmingly ignorant for a few seconds more that he was the one sitting at a strangely small ( for his standards ) table with tea cups and cakes gallore. The smile on his face was the purest display of the heartfelt joy he felt at the notion of tea parties, and yet he could not help but wander off in his mind to the sad concept of a world where teatime did not exist. What a horrifying world that must be - a thought that was visible in his expression, but vanished as soon as it had emerged. “Oh, but maybe I should be the one inviting you! There’s plenty room… and tea, of course! Won’t you join us?”

“Why don’t you just yell it out to everyone?!” Estellise never would have raised her voice at him - or in general - but he clearly pushed her this time. There were reasons that she told him in confidence that little secret and it was a good thing that no one was there or at least no one that it would matter to. (She didn’t tell him that secret didn’t really matter but she had reasons for that.)

“Besides, why does it matter to you? You have many girls that you fawn over and even break their hearts afterward.” The princess didn’t mean to push his buttons but she even hurt herself with her own words but she was on a roll to really deal with those feelings.

“Howl? Howl, is that you?” The voice that conveyed so much, when its connecting heart was in doubt as to whether to admit to it just yet. After all, she’d never planned for these ‘feelings’. She’d never planned for any of this, but she was a part of the story now, unfolding along with it and on her way to figure out who she was meant to be. “Have you returned?” By now, the girl with the starlight hair had begun to swerve around the castle, looking in countless spots but knowing exactly which way to head to first. His chambers. Either that or the bathroom, but she sure wasn’t going in there if she expected him to be in it. Not a thought went out to what she’d do in case she did find him, in case he HAD returned. All she knew, was that it would soothe her concerns ( for a heart’s a heavy burden ), and she needed him there.

"I really worry about you, you know?” The princess always knew he would either work his butt off or slack off; there seemed to be no in between with the magician. This was one of those times she could tell he was working to the bone but she didn’t know for what. “You can take a break. No one is watching.”
