24 hours into new batch of Mead. The yeast is generating CO2 like mad!
My mead is clearing up so nicely! It's almost time to bottle it up!
Btw I still haven't come up with a good babe so please help me think of one 😅
So, turns out, I've been passing trees with apples and blueberries on them on the way to work, or to do errands. I know what I'm picking from to make ciders and cysers now... 'Cos I'm sitting on stuff that's in season, and really, I’d wanna use it if honey costs what it does.
I'm about half a month into my mead making process! It's gonna be a mulled mead when it's done!
My sibling and I started making mead this year. Our first batch went really well. We made three different flavors initially to test and now our second batch here is just one. It’s an apple cider mead specifically for the holiday season. This batch is only a few days old so we got a long wait ahead. The airlocks are bubbling like crazy. The yeast is FEASTING. And the smell is absolutely divine. My favorite part is drinking something we’ve made ourselves from scratch. Like yeah we made that. This mead exists only because of our effort. I highly recommend making stuff.
Hello gorgeous...
You made mead right? Trying to find out if unripe pear is okay or should i wait for them to ripen
I do make mead!
I would wait for pears to ripen before you use them for melomel. Unripe is going to give you less flavor, and what you do get will have a bitter edge.
Best of luck, let me know how it goes!

Mead Baby 2.0: bottling day!
Today, we finally bottled our second attempt at making mead!
I last wrote about it here, and you can follow links to the whole process we went through, here. (Links will open in new tabs.)
Here is how it looked, after unwrapping the carboy from its towel (which served to insulate, as well as keep light out).
