Tiana sat in the dining room of Tiana’s Palace, waiting. It was evening, silent except for a few stray noises coming from the kitchen. Normally The Palace was crowded with people, and even now the memories of laughter, music and joy were echoing around the building. Tiana quietly reveled in it, so glad that her dream brought so much happiness to those around her. Tonight though, there was only one person she was thinking about.
“Are you sure you don’t want any help, darling?” Tiana called out to her husband. Of course Naveen had insisted he cook her a meal. It was their anniversary, after all. Their first anniversary, and he wanted to do it right. Well, so did she. And so here she was, in her best dress, at her favorite table in The Palace (set beautifully if she did say so herself), complete with candles and a few carefully strung strands of lights, blinking softly from the rafters.
It was all very romantic, or it would be if her husband were here by her side. “Naveen?” she called again. “Is everything coming along alright?” Whatever he was cooking smelled delicious, and surprisingly, it didn’t smell like anything she had taught him how to make. Tiana was so proud of him. He really had come a long way in the year they had been married. She couldn’t wait to see what came next.
