I don’t know how to properly feel about this as a whole, but if Ernesto is not in it with a possible redemption arc I’m not gonna bother watching it!
Whose life was harder?
Who had a worse backstory?
Mikey, TLR
MAMA COCO
I can't believe Enrique Rivera pulled a fine woman like Luisa by being a music-hating shoemaker, like seriously
Not that Enrique is bad-looking, but damn his wife is so gorgeous omg
She must have really loved Enrique to marry into a family that wants nothing to do with music because I personally can't fathom a life without music
Poor Little Orphans: R1 - Jyn Erso v Coco Rivera
Which sad orphan has the more tragic tale?
Jyn Erso
Coco Rivera
Jyn Erso: Rouge One: A Star Wars Story 2016 She witnessed the brutal death of both of her parents
When it comes to an orphan tournament, I think Jyn deserves a top spot. Not only did she witness her mom's death as a child, she was separated from her father until she's grown up, and then has to watch him die the minute she gets him back. Talk about tragic!
Coco Rivera: Coco 2017 Her father left to pursue music and was murdered but no one knew that, her mother died at aged 71/72 (still a while before the movie)
It's not LU, but I wrote another fic! I went home last weekend because my great-grandmother passed away (she was 104), and on the plane I watched Coco (2017). It was extremely fitting, and I've been dying (pun semi-intended) to explore the behind the scenes look at what happens to Héctor after they send Miguel back, so I finally gave in and wrote it 🥰

Enjoy!
I headcanon that Imelda actually knew for a while that Coco was sneaking out to the plaza to sing and dance, she just only made Coco stop once she figured out she was sneaking out of the plaza to sing and dance with a boy. After all, she used to sing and dance with a boy, and look how that ended.
