May 2019: Maiko Koeri (Hiroshimaya Okiya), Geiko Mameryū (Tama Okiya), Maiko Mameharu (Tama Okiya) and Maiko Mamesumi (Ninben Okiya) of Gion Kobu during the Miyako Odori Shūryō Hōgoku Matsuri.

The Miyako Odori Shūryō Hōgoku Matsuri takes place ever year on May 1st. During this event, the Maiko and Geiko of Gion Kobu gather at their local shrine to give thanks to their dance teachers for a successful Miyako Odori.

วัน Hatsuyori (初寄り) ในทุกๆ วันที่ 13 เดือนมกราคมของทุกปี เหล่าไมโกะและเกโกะจะแต่งตัวด้วยกิโมโนที่มีสีสันสดใสในวันนี้ และเดินทางไปขอบคุณอาจารย์และผู้เชี่ยวชาญด้านการร่ายรำประจำเขต

January 2019: Sisters Maiko Mameharu and Geiko Mameryū (Tama Okiya) of Gion Kobu on their way to a joint engagement.

Mameharu and Mameryū debuted on the same day, 10th of March 2015, and have been inseparable since. They are best friends; you will only rarely find a picture where the two a more than a few feet apart from each other.

Even though they had their Misedashi on the same day, Mameryū had her Erikae last November already ,after only 3 years and 8 months as a Maiko, since her looks and demeanor are so mature already that she suits being a Geiko better.

Mameharu on the other hand, looks incredibly cute, has the “Maiko-look” and is very cheeful and smiley, so she will likely stay a Maiko for a little while longer, since it suits her so well.
