I've wanted to make a post for a while that covers all my favourite spidery traits that I think should be included more in Spider-Man fanfics and art. I considered posting it on my writing account, but it’s biology-related enough to justify posting it on my main I think. Keep in mind these are not canon, just fun ideas that add to your story.
Organic Spinnerets
While I think Peter designing and building his own web-shooters is really cool, l've always loved the idea of organic webs since watching the Tobey Maguire Spider-Man movies. Images below show potential spinneret anatomy, side by side with a design of Peter's web shooters. (Images not mine)
Fangs / Chelicerae
I've seen two options for fangs: "vampire fangs", either modified canines or extra teeth descending from behind the other teeth, and the more spider-like option of actual chelicerae. Chelicerae are the paired mouthparts found in arachnids.
The second one is my personal favourite, but it comes with the downsides of Peter being clearly identifiable as a mutant, which would complicate his life a lot!
Another interesting feature could be pedipalps, a pair of short facial appendages spiders use for grasping and manipulating. Here’s how it might look (apologies for the messy drawing), and the placement on an actual spider
Extra Eyes & Tapetum Lucidum
Spiders have eight eyes, so why not give Peter some extra few? There’s plenty of options for eye orientation. Spiders can also have tapetum lucidum, the reflective “glowy” effect that animals like cats pupils have in the dark.
Claws
Spiders have little claws on their feet! Miguel O’ Hara (aka Spider-Man 2099) also has them. It’s not a stretch to assume Peter might also develop claws!
I actually have a lot more ideas, but I need to take a break from writing, so I might make a part two if anyone wants one. Lmk if you have more ideas!

I HAVE DOODLES—wait oh my god it's not Breaking The Cycle…what the hellllllllllll—-
Ok so uh I'm trying to draw every day, even if I don't have the time for a fully rendered drawing I can doodle on my phone so I have these!! Context is basically a fic I wanna write one day but don't have time right now!!! I love Savage Spider-Man/Man-Spider its really cool to me and I wish they did more with it in the ultimate show >:((( So I've decided to make it worse!!!
Basically, Still Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon, Peter gets injected by ancient uh oh venom, but nothing happens immediately. He goes back home, continues with his life while slowly getting sicker and sicker until it gets too much and he ends up collapsing in an alley on the way home where the transformation finally takes place. Panicked, Peter tries to call the team and accidentally calls Harry. (Wow another ultimate fic with Harry as a main character what a shocker) Peter manages to gurgle out a plea for help before his claws crush the phone and the transformation carries on to completely. Harry manages to track Peter down using a tracker I have no idea how he has yet!!!!! And finds the very spidery monstery Peter in the alley. Peter is like 90% spider instincts and 10% remaining scraps of his humanity in utter confusion and panic and pain at what has happened to him, he hardly remembers anything about who he is or what he's supposed to be doing. Peter almost mauls Harry before something inside him clicks and realises he trusts this person…but he doesn't know why??
Harry manages to smuggle Peter back to the penthouse, and the plot gets kinda flimsy from here because I haven't planned literally anything, it's all in my head but—Harry ends up calling MJ because he CANNOT deal with this alone and they both become determined to try and find out how this happened to Peter and how to turn him back. Neither of them know that Peter is Spider-Man because I think that makes it funnier. SHIELD/Team Spidey are so fucking confused about where Peter went and why Harry and MJ—his best friends—seem minimally bothered. Peter is a big cat. Big ol cat that is determined to cause as much problems as humanly possible. He hates water, he’s eating all the raw meat in the fridge, he claims Harry’s bed as his net and Harry has to sleep on the couch in his own house, Peter has separation anxiety now and gets VERY distressed when his emotional support Harry and MJ attempt to leave his ‘territory’: the penthouse. He’s claimed it all. I’d like it if Norman found out, because he’d be a semi-normal person in this fic, but I have no idea how that would fit into the timeline…eh whatever. Norman finds out and is so fucking tired because Peter keeps stalking him from the ceiling and it's disturbing.
Anyways I love drawing Peter, he's like a muse he's so cool to draw to me, even if his design is kinda simple. I have no idea what I could call this fic and when I'd be doing it, it wouldn't be too long I think and it would be mostly fluff and humour I think. At least that's all I'm drawing, but there is a lot of horror involved!
I'm open to questions, like all my other fics, I think talking helps me build it!! I could even give a few doodles!!!
