The Time I Took Things Too Far
So it was a couple of days after I saw Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith with my dad. Before this, I had gone through his old Star Wars toys and opened a lot of them (they were still in ther original packaging, and would have been worth a lot today). He hadn't gotten mad, or yelled at me. He just made me watch the original Star Wars trilogy, and it just so happened that Star Wars episode 3 would be coming out after my 9th birthday. So I bragged about this to my cousin (who was always being given everything she wanted because her parents were divorced and fought over who got her better things). So all day during our trip to the really fun park an hour away from where we lived, we argued over who's dad was better. It was a simple battle, that got heated and escalated by the time we got to McDonalds on our way home. It was late-ish, and not many people were at McDonalds. We had just gotten our food when my cousin crossed a line; a line that enraged 9 year old me like never before. The kind of rage where you just want to see everything bad ever in the history of time, happen to your enemy. She had never been my enemy, until this time at McDonalds. She had given the worst blow 9 year old me could have imagined. She said "well, your dad is going bald". I was ready to draw blood, to fight to the death. How dare she offend my father, and therefor me, in that way? So I very angrily stood on my chair, slammed my hands on the table and yelled at the top of my lungs "WELL YOUR DAD HAS MAN-BOOBS!!!!". Needless to say, I got the attention of all the adults and all the McDonalds employees. I won the battle, but at what cost? She was crying, her dad had left, the McDonalds employees were laughing, and the adults were really confused. My cousin lunged over the table, and I ended up stabbing my french fries up her nose (I wasn't wasting my nuggets) as she threw ketchup at me. The ride home was very quiet, and my cousin would not look me in the face. It wasn't until I got home and my mom told my dad, that I felt bad about what happened. He told me that my actions and letting my emotions get the best of me, would make me a Sith. I was very emotional and torn, because I didn't want to be bad. But then he high fived me for defending him and standing my ground, and laughed it off. No one who was there brings it up, and everyone acts like it never happened. But it did. I will never forget it, and neither will my uncle and cousin, or my dad. So, yeah. That's the story of how 9 year old me humiliated a grown man in a McDonalds, all for the sake of winning an argument and getting even.
