At least half of the respondents agreed to my quit introverted side of me which is something that doesn’t surprise me. But I’m quite surprised that people have seen many more attributes to my personality than I have expected such as being intelligent, caring and trustworthy.
How would these attributes relate to me in a workplace?
I think I would struggle in an environment where designers, clients, and other involved parties need to interact regularly as my social prowess is not up to par. To a client, my friendly and trustworthy nature will aid in clearer communication between us. However, my introverted qualities and lack of assertiveness may pose a challenge if I need to present or suggest ideas/changes to the project
I definitely think I would be quite a likeable co-worker, but I may come off as uninterested or apathetic with my introversion. Working on being friendly, approachable and becoming more trustworthy would benefit me greatly in this aspect.
As a boss, I would be very susceptible to my employees’ decisions as I am not very self-assertive and have a lack of confidence. It is in my best interest that I learn to be self-assertive and confident to master that role in a design studio.
Overall I believe I underestimate my abilities and aspects too much that it hinders me from achieving great things. Learning to find more confidence and assertiveness, and accepting the attributes in the Blind Spot will definitely aid my overall development as a person and a designer.
