4. What’s your favourite headcanon about your muse?

I have headcanons about Ava’s different circles of friends aside from the people she interacts with on the dash. 

There are co-workers she made friends with in the IT department. Some of them are complete nerds who play tabletop RPGs that she’ll participate in. There’s a group of gossipy Rocket girls who occasionally pester her for info or share their info with her. Ava also has online friends she keeps in contact with, such as fellow art people.

A little more important to her backstory, which I’m still ironing out the details of, is that Ava hung out with the Kids Grid group when she was still in Orre. Hanging around them was the beginning of Ava’s interest with computers and information technology. She still keeps in contact with them through their own encrypted chat app.

Will most of this information be relevant to RPs on the dash? Probably not. But it makes her more like a real person to know she has multiple groups of people she interacts with off-screen.

“The move commonly referred to as Psychic is generally accepted as the name for any number of psychokinetic techniques; it’s appearance can vary from region to region, but the gist of it is a powerful force of kinetic energy created with psychic ability and used to directly strike an opponent. 

When my Espeon here was developing the move, we used references from our home region of Orre, where it developed as a sort of kinetic cannoball. Raw energy shaped into a ball and fired at the opponent; its shape is very efficient, so it can come out quickly. Some users will fire it more like a beam or a sudden burst, some will try to one-inch-punch their opponent with the kinetic force, refined control can even allow you to directly pick up and throw an opponent against a nearby surface.

As a move, it has a lot of variations, which can make Psychic-types fun to study but confusing to watch. I personally prefer the projectile versions of the attack, since you’re not always going to be up against a target you can move around, like if you need to destroy a structure stuck pretty hard in the ground.”

“Tips for the kids at home: Learning how to weld is some pretty solid job security. There’s always blue collar work for someone that can handle it. Safety always, though. You won’t be cashing big paychecks if you’re constantly on fire.”
