Rick Riordan took the "kill the gays" trope to whole new level with Magnus and Alex being already dead, Nico being the son of the God of the underworld and Will being the son of the God of Healing who has a brother that has a cure to bring people back from the dead.

I love that kind of commitment to the gays.

Can we please aplaud Rick Riordan for single handedly provided representation for lgbtq+, Muslims, kids who live in abusive households, homeless kids, and so many more people?

Patton as Magnus Chase- this is probably the hardest casting, but I think it fits. Magnus is a healer and that’s something that would fit well with Patton. Also, Magnus is completely ride or die for his friends, another Patton-like personality trait. (Especially the flyting, telling the tales of his friends to beat Loki? Very Patton) Even drawing back to the first book where Magnus dies to protect the civilians on the bridge, sacrificing himself for the many? Sounds like something Patton would do. Also, having Patton with Magnus’s snark would be fun.

Logan as Samirah al-Abbas- Sam is, without a doubt, one of the smartest characters in the book and probably is the only one with a level head. Sounds like Logan, doesn’t it? Sam’s problems with Loki all step from her adversion to chaos, another trait she shared with Logan, who tries to push his follow sides into some form of order. If we wanna get angsty, Sam’s attempts in the first book to prove herself as more than just a daughter of Loki almost parallels Logan’s desperation to be listened to. Also picture Logan getting excited about flying lessons and being a pilot!

Roman as Blitzen: This is probably where everything started. Roman as the fashion loving, designer dwarf? All I ever will need thank you very much. Blitz’s sarcasm feels like the same brand of sass that we get from Roman. Also, Roman’s drama queen tendencies parallel some of of Blitz’s. Other than the sass and the theatrics, Blitzen’s creative ways of fighting in battle give me strong Roman vibes. And the scene in the Ship of the Dead where Blitzen defends Hearth from Mr. Aldermen by screaming and threatening the dragon without a real plan? Roman.

Virgil as Hearthstone- Sarcasm? Repressed-Trama? Dressing in all black until friends intervene? That’s only scratching the surface of connecting Virgil to Hearth. Hearth guards is emotions and doesn’t show them often, which match’s pre-accepting anxiety Virgil. They’re both fiercely loyal and are ride or die. Another parallel? Hearth begins to heal from his children trauma around the crew, which is a lot like Virgil’s mental transformation during his arc.

Also, Blitz and Hearth are in love, I’m ignoring the Nine Worlds book, and their relationship screams Prinxiety okay?

Deciet as Alex Fierro- I’m half convinced Alex and Dee are the same person. They’re both extremely snarky and look out for themselves, but when push comes to shove, they are ride or die. Also, Alex’s claiming of Loki’s chaos as her own feels like a very Dee thing to do. Also,,, green hair, hetrochromia and snake tattoo?? they are one and the same! Also, both are untrusted by the group, but just like how Alex proves that he can be trusted and the crew allows him into their circle, I believe the sides will be able to see that Dee’s intentions are really just protecting Thomas. Also, genderfluid! Dee.

Also I get Romantic Moceit and familial Loceit what more can I ask for?

Remus as Halfborn Gunderson- this is really just based on the fact that they’re very chaotic

Remy as Mallory Keen- Sarcastic, might stab you, and honestly a queen? They’re basically the same person

Emile as Thomas Jefferson Jr- I was listening to the scene where TJ goes around thanking the brits for not getting involved in the civil world? I started at my ceiling and decided that TJ had to be Emile. Also, optimism!

Also for a cursed idea? Thomas as Jack. Thomas as the chaos singing sword.
