Summary:

Armand and Nicki discuss art (and art theft), before Nicki paints Armand for the first time in centuries.

Notes:

Written for the VC secret gift exchange! I got vampire-scripture on tumblr, and their prompt “Armand and Nicki and art”. This was such a fun fic to write, thank you so much for the excuse to write more of these two!

The title is taken from the poem Standing Female Nude by Carol Ann Duffy.

The fic itself is set some time nebulously 4-5ish years into their decade running the theatre, and for anyone who wants the playlist that accompanies this fic, then that’s on youtube and spotify.

Either he's been louder than he thought, or Ango's sleep was lighter than expected. Whatever the case, the hand closing around Chuuya's wrist has him almost jumping out of his skin, still tense and alert in the aftermath of the nightmare. He manages to fight the instinct to yank his arm away though, focusing on the man the hand belongs too, feeling his heartbeat slow down just a bit. Right, he's safe, he's okay, no need to hide or run away...

Chuuya sighs, shaking his head silently, an answer to both of Ango's answers. He's not sure he can go back to sleep anytime soon, not with the remnants of his nightmare still pulling at the edge of his consciousness like monsters trying to crawl out of the prison of his subconscious, but he lies back in bed anyway, cuddling close to Ango's chest.

"Memories." He says softly as an explanation, draping one arm over Ango's waist to pull the other closer, resting his head on his chest "It happens, once in a while..."

StrexCorp has been paying too much attention to their employees downtime and are very disappointed with Tomas’ productivity as of late. Meanwhile, Matvei, their usually model scientist, has been slowing down and not spending his downtime in Strex approved ways.

They force the two Scientists together in a brilliant plan!

Strex Corp’s Brilliant Plan:

Step One: Collect genetic material.

Step two: Create child and leak info as to child’s existence

Step three: ????

Step Four: Profit

Eventually ??? is crossed out and replaced with forced marriage in an attempt to give the child some semblance of a childhood.

The wedding is a simple affair, their grins wide and forced. Before the Smiling God are they, by neither of their choice.

Neither of them are very sentimental; for the sake of the kid, they keep their wedding albums around.

🔥 | Batfamily?

Send me a “ 🔥 “ for an unpopular opinion.

I love fanon batfamily, so so much. But canon batfam? They’re toxic as hell. They all abuse each other, and there’s no ‘well actually...’ no. No. Sure, they have their great moments, they have their moments which makes us believe they are wholesome and loving and it’s a lie. Bruce abuses them all, especially in recent comics (especially Jason). Dick is an ass, Damian needs therapy, Tim gets the short end of the stick, and Jason is both singled out repeatedly and repeatedly takes out his anger on his family. They’re all so bad for each other, in canon, and it’s such a shame. 

It does show the horrifying reality that people say ‘it’s family’ and remain in abusive situation’s because they think they should/it’s all the deserve/ect.

But yeah, I think it’s part of the reason people make fanon so fluffy and wholesome. People want happy and healthy batfamily, and even if they’ll never admit that canon Batfamily - all of them, not just Bruce - are so toxic for each other they still make the corrections in fanon.

The man’s travels had taken him to the lower levels of Coruscant. In order to see if there was anyone he could potentially help generally or possibly help get a life out of the lower levels. No one with the potential of decency deserved to be stuck living down here, at least not in his personal opinion on the matter. 

The pacifist lightsaber wielder was about to begin exploring, when he saw a bunch of pirate thugs attacking an innocent person who didn’t seem to deserve it. So he asked them to peacefully stop. When that didn’t work, he pulled out his peacesaber and hit each of the pirate thugs with it, knocking them out. 

This allowed the innocent person to get away, they thanked him before doing so. He’d picked up on the fact that someone had been watching the entire situation play out the moment they’d started watching. Now they were approaching him and he turned his attention towards them with a kind smile. The force was strong with them.

Marion remembered the student from Drumstrang barely but it had been a few years and Mairon had always been naturally curious about new shops that had popped up in Diagon Alley. She walked into the wand shop with a smile on her lips. “Hi, you must be Ilya, right? I doubt you remember me. But I think you came to Hogwarts during the Tri-Wizard tournament.” Marion smiled at him. “I’m Marion Weasley, formerly Sherwood but I run The Witch’s Hat down the street. I figured I’d stop in and say hello.”
