Here you go! I was whole, whole I would remain. 101k, timeline divergent from after Lyanna elopes with Rhaegar, but before Rickard Stark arrives in King’s Landing to be burnt alive alongside his eldest son. POV alternating between Rhaella, Elia, Lyanna, and eventually nearly-OC Jeyne Swann.

Rhaella thinks perhaps the gods, any gods, have heard her prayers, when Aerys vomits up blood in bed. (Aerys dies before the 'trial' of Rickard and Brandon Stark can commence. In King's Landing, Rhaella at last finds her footing. On Dragonstone, Elia makes her preparations. And in the Tower of Joy, Lyanna comes to a series of cold realizations).

Question: what’s the source on Scooter helping with Sanctuary III? I think I must have missed that bit.

Mad Moxxi will sometimes say it when you are in her Bar aboard the Sanctuary III. I remember playing her Slot Machines and hearing the line over and over again after having traveled to Promethea, but not yet traveled to Athenas..

Trick or Treat! (Old Kingdom series?)

I got to meet Garth Nix at WorldCon a few years ago. He was very nice. I got to tell him that the first fanfiction I ever wrote was for the Old Kingdom (he didn’t quite get fanfiction as a media iirc, but he was supportive and flattered) and on request, he signed my copy of Sabriel at this passage that has lived rent-free in my brain since I was about 10 years old.

Treva, you do realize that if it's a clear and non smoggy day, you can see all the way to the Farallones from not very high up at all, right?`Flat places are like that, but MORE™.

I hypothetically know that, yes. I can see San Francisco from Cerrito Hill most days if the fog isn’t too thick. Or, the outline of it. Ish. Lights, for sure, when it gets dark.

But there should be limits! There have to be limits! People shouldn’t just be able to SEE things!!

re: ask meme - Garth Nix's Old Kingdom

answered this one last time, don’t really feel like anything has changed. There isn’t really anything I would change in the series, and I don’t have any fic ideas these days...I think about flinging other characters into it sometimes, like I did with Girl Genius, because it’s a very satisfying world and story to fling people into? Bit enough to play around in, and a nice balance of...cosmology-level stakes and grandeur and really heartwrenching character development. Gosh these books are so good.
