SUMMARY: Heralded as the next Neil Gaiman, Louis Tomlinson does not appreciate being told that his very serious novel is in dire need of a PR boost. Even worse, that it comes in the form of a joint book tour with the UK’s #1 online romance-writing sensation Marcel Styles. Already turbulent at best, their partnership takes a drastic turn when, overly stressed about his looming deadline, Marcel accidentally blurts out a secret: though he’s famed for his scorching hot literary love scenes, he is, actually, a virgin.  Convinced that the only way to rid himself of writer’s block is to gain some experience, Marcel asks Louis, author-to-author, to sleep with him – for Science. And of course Louis agrees because, well, what on Earth could possibly go wrong?

MY RECOMMENDATION: A fun and sexy take on the classic rom-com that left me with a stupid grin plastered on my face for most of the reading time. Lovely character work, solid story and engaging writing make this fic a gem.

It’s the fastest I’ve read a fic in a long while and can’t wait to reread it whenever I next need a pick me up.

I LOVE YOU ANON! Because you know I love me some Marcel. And there just aren’t enough of them written. These are my favorites of the ones I’ve read: 

Our Lives, Non Fiction by @indiaalphawhiskey (E, 114K) this is, quite literally, the best fic I’ve read in years. It’s so well written, clever, funny, emotional, and sexy. Its draw you in immediately and you’ll end up falling in love with these characters before you know it. Don’t miss this one.

Want You More Than A by TheCellarDoor (M, 78K) I read this one ages ago and for some reason don’t have it bookmarked, so I can’t add much except that this is considered the OG Marcel fic and I generally enjoy this author’s writing. 

The Case Of The (Definitely Not Haunted) Styles Mansion by BriaMaria / @briannamarguerite (E, 40K) A Nancy Drew mystery, set in the 1950s, AND it’s Marcel. I mean…COME ON! I’ve read this one a couple of times and I love it.

You can't blame gravity (for falling in love) by star_k / @perfectdagger (E, 28K) This is just charming and sexy and I loved how Louis doesn’t try to change Marcel. 

It’s A Rare Condition by Gloria_Andrews / @gloriaandrews (E, 7K) This one had such great descriptions of love and intimacy and self-discovery. Plus, it’s super sexy.

Buried Like Treasure by QuickedWeen / @becomeawendybird (E, 40K) There’s a lot packed into this one ––  it’s fun and quirky and sexy.

L i s t e n, I love to talk fic, and I’m always happy to share the ones I love, just give me some keywords! 

Three fics immediately spring to mind when I think of my fave Marcel, but I recommend the Marcel Fic Exchange if you want to dig deeper (that said, I’m sure the Marcel tag itself would yield some true gems…it won’t take long because there’s simply not enough Marcel fic in this cruel world, GODDAMMIT). Anyhoo, here’s my list, let me know what you think!

Take a Chance, Just Feed Me (canon! Louis is wayyyyy into Harry’s Marcel costume and gets him to roleplay)

Buried Like Treasure (royalty AU *and* a heist fic, plus hot bondage and lingerie? whut???)

The Case of the (Definitely Not Haunted) Styles Mansion (if you love a Nancy Drew-style mystery, this is the fic for you! plus slutty virgin Harry Styles Marcel, so you know I’m down)

Louis has zero chance of passing Literature. At least without a tutor who knows Shakespeare well enough to recite it as if those words were his own. And he finds just that, and a lot more, in Marcel.

i come back to your blog after a bit and saw there was a lot of marcel here the other day, is the new piece up? :c i'm in pain for itttttt

oi oi oi, got to admit the marcel feels came barrelling in yesterday. 

I was working on something else and was like “fuck it, time to finish marcel iv, get on it. GET ON IT” and I’ve set my mind to work on Oh Marcel only until it’s finished, and so I am currently halfway through, or more like 70% through, with the second part of Oh Marcel :) so the new piece will be up hopefully soon? maybe tomorrow? aAAHH! Excite! 

Also if anyone wants to beta read Oh Marcel : please come forth! I take volunteers, i need opinions on whether it’s too little action or what. This one kinda feels like a filler before part 3 ( cause Oh Marcel is a three parter winkwink)
