I know these are trying times. Both information and misinformation fluctuates moment to moment leaving us frustrated, scattered and even scared. However, by making a simple change, by simply changing our tone, and re-framing our motivations, what we are actually doing is showing ourselves, our neighbors, our community and even our Creator, that we are resilient, calm, intelligent, perseverant and faithful.
For instance, if you choose to cancel upcoming travel plans, don't do so because of some ill conceived Armageddon or apocalypse - do so because you love your home space, you love your co-habitants, you want to spend quality time with them. Perhaps it's time to slow down, and reassess your lifestyle, your habits, your daily pace, your priorities.
If you choose to stock up on household goods and food items, don't do so because you expect scarcity, hunger or poverty - do so because you have the space in your home and refrigerator, do so because you want to fill your cupboards with healthy and nourishing food.
If you choose to reduce your public exposure, don't do it because of some imagined boogie man or evil entity "out there" - do so because you want to practice self care, maybe take a rest, maybe there's a project you've been meaning to tackle and could never find the time, maybe there's a book you've been waiting to read.
If you choose to wash your hands a little longer and more often, do it because hygiene and personal care is important to you, perhaps the soap smells good, you appreciate the feel of warm water on your skin, or simply cherish your daily personal care routine.
What I mean is, whether or not you believe that our thoughts create our reality, it simply can't hurt to show ourselves and others a little more love.
So, I invite you to re-frame your narrative, to shift your focus from scarcity to preparedness, from fear and victimization to vigilance and foresight.
I invite you to approach your days from a place patience, not panic.
I want to send out love to those who are suffering, to those who are scared. I want to send out peace to those who are anxious. I hereby Call in Peace from Creator.
I want to send out forgiveness to those resorting to drug and drink either because they lack the mental acuity or healthy coping skills to deal with stress. Addiction is real.
I want to send out Gratitude for all the abundance that is readily available to us. I want to send out Gratitude for daily mercies and the presence of grace.
Her Royal Highness, my 70 plus year old magnolia has made her presence known. This weekend, I'm taking time to appreciate some serene moments. I, too, plan to follow the quiet Knowing in me ... Maritza ...
