Guys, I think I'm falling into the trap.

I read Red Queen probably around 7-8 years ago and I have a vague idea of what happens. Specifically with Maven.

But I'm restarting the series because I had no idea there was a fifth book.

I'm on chapter 16 right now and I just can't- Maven is so sweet and I know it's not going to end well and I know I'm fucked.

Josef: either a red fox or a great horned owl, but he loves all animals. theyre his special interest

Artur and Mareena (YJ Redux)

You may have remembered in the comics of Aquaman's children from versions in the TV series such as Young Justice and Batman Beyond. Though it didn't explore much of their sibling relationship. Both siblings have pale blonde hair and blue eyes like their own father, Aquaman.

What if they are born as twins in the Redux versions? In the Young Justice Redux version. Artur and Mareena are twins and the prince and princess of Atlantis. Let's have a look at their own personalities and perspectives.

Artur is the firstborn and heir to the throne of Atlantis. Being the crown prince, Arthur began studying at the age of 7 about the historical articles of his ancestors. He is also interested in finding out more about the golden age of Earth where the first battle against Darkseid was taken place. Although he is a skilled combatant, Artur is more focused on keeping the peace between land and sea and only fight when necessary. His relationship with his twin sister, Mareena, is much like a typical brother-sister relationship. He gets protective of Mareena for every rebellious move she makes, such as sneaking to the surface to explore more. And sometimes gets reluctantly dragged into any sorts of trouble by his sister. And this worries Artur of how big the rebellious streak in his sister is that he has to prevent her from getting hurt. But he loves her, nonetheless. As he grew up, Arthur became much more of a responsible teenager that he didn't want to have any fun for the sake of his responsibilities, but that was the more reason his sister tried to get him to get out a bit more. Being in the Titans (a future generations of teenage heroes), Artur is leader of the team seeing his comrades as equals, trying to keep the team together.

Mareena is second-in-line to the throne, and with that, she tries to do something to serve if she isn't to take the throne. Despite her brother being the heir, her family sees potential in her, and that she just has to find out more for herself. She has inherit her rebellious streak from her paternal grandmother, Queen Atlanna, of her love for adventure. Fighting pirates and assassins that dared to hunt down her people. She also participated in Combat Tournaments using her grandmother's trident. This however began to cause rumors to spread that Mareena might one day replace Artur as the heir (though Artur didn't let those rumors get in the way, as he didn't mind, not wanting his sister to be jealous). Unlike her older twin brother, Mareena has a love for battle, and trained each day, stronger than Artur. But because Mareena and Arthur were direct descendants of the Royal House of Xebel through their mother, Mera, Mareena is to take the throne of Xebel according to the will of her maternal grandfather, King Ryus Nereus, which will make her the future queen, and furthering solidifying the alliance and ties between Atlantis and Xebel. Which is something their parents will not tell yet until she comes of age.

Despite the twins (in the future) will one day rule the separate kingdoms, Artur and Mareena will still work together to protect Earth.

Being the children of Aquaman, they were also born to defend the land and sea since their ancestry of humans and atlanteans alike. Artur mostly interacts with his mother, Queen Mera, when she was teaching him the ways to rule the kingdom since his father was busy with his duties as a member of the Justice League. But father and son still get along well as they tried to make time to spend together as family.

But meanwhile, being a princess of the royal household, Mareena didn't want to be born with just a title of royalty. Because of this, the twins' father, King Orin, felt bad thay Mareena felt purposeless, and decided to give her the freedom to choose, since the queens and princesses of the past didn't have the same thing given the customs, and Orin/Arthur Curry Sr. wanted to change things for his family by not repeating the same mistakes as his forefathers.

So Mareena was told the stories of heroes and villains of the past. Inspiring her to become a combatant soldier for the Atlantean Militia. To aid her brother when he becomes king in the future. And because of those stories, Mareena and her father bonded.

It took Aquaman and Mera some time to think about letting their children go to school (on land) to learn about the outside world, and for them to gain the independence necessary. At the ages of 14, the twins were allowed to go to a public high school and avoid revealing their statuses of being members of the royal family. While also keeping their Atlantean traits a secret.

Artur was usually reserved, but (unintentionally) became popular with the female students with academics and good looks and muscular appearance. But doesn't like fighting, but only does so to intervene such chaos. Artur is also part of a debate team to gain political skills and win for 3 years. Mareena on the other hand was top on the class of Physical Education, the boys got attracted to her, only for her brother to keep her away from them.

When in Atlantis, during ceremonies of tournaments, King Orin, Queen Mera, Prince Artur and Princess Mareena share the throneroom. The throne has four seats, symbolizing a family unity. To show how family mattered, and not royal titles.
