Ser Addam Velaryon fue un bastardo legitimado de la Casa Velaryon durante la Danza de los Dragones. Fue jinete del dragón Bruma.

Addam nació bastardo y tuvo un hermano, Alyn. Su madre era una mujer de Casco llamada Marilda, pero se desconoce la identidad de su padre; la mujer afirmó que ambos hermanos eran hijos de Ser Laenor Velaryon, lo que Lord Corlys aceptó sin poner objeciones. El bufón Hongo sugirió que los hermanos eran hijos de Lord Corlys Velaryon, engendrados en la época en que pasaba mucho tiempo en los astilleros de Casco, donde el padre de Marilda era carpintero.

Al comienzo de la guerra civil, Los Negros tenían más dragones que jinetes y se dispusieron a buscar quién los montara entre los habitantes de Rocadragón. Addam fue capaz de domar a los 15 años al dragón Bruma, sin jinete desde la muerte de Laenor Velaryon. Durante la guerra, luchó junto al resto de semillas de dragón y Jacaerys Velaryon contra la flota de la Triarquía en la Batalla del Gaznate, donde lograron la victoria, a pesar de la muerte del príncipe y su dragón Vermax.

A mitad de la guerra, tras las Traiciones de Ladera, Addam fue acusado de traicionar a la princesa Rhaenyra y cambiar de bando. Escapó con su dragón de su intento de arresto y dicen las leyendas que viajó a la Isla de los Rostros en búsqueda de consejo, para luego regresar con 4.000 hombres de su lado. Murió poco después junto a su dragón tras haber acabado con Vermithor y Tessarion en Ladera demostrando que no todos los bastardos son unos traidores y salvando Desembarco del Rey.

Tras su heroica muerte, sus huesos fueron llevados a Árbol de los Cuervos y posteriormente devueltos en 138 d.C. a Marcaderiva. Su hermano, Lord Alyn, sólo puso una palabra en el epitafio de su tumba: Leal.

Nunca entenderé porque los bastardos son considerados traidores por ser creados de un engaño/ traición. Que se jodan el Martillo, Ulf el blanco y Ortigas; Addam y Alyn demostraron lealtad y valentía, dando una buena imagen a su casa.

Ser Addam Velaryon was a legitimate bastard of House Velaryon during the Dance of the Dragons. He was Rider of the Mist Dragon.

Addam was born a bastard and had a brother, Alyn. His mother was a Casco woman named Marilda, but his father's identity is unknown; the woman claimed that both brothers were children of Ser Laenor Velaryon, which Lord Corlys accepted without objection. The jester Hongo suggested that the brothers were children of Lord Corlys Velaryon, sired at the time when he spent a lot of time in the Casco shipyards, where Marilda's father was a carpenter.

At the beginning of the civil war, the Blacks had more dragons than horsemen and they set out to find who would ride them among the inhabitants of Dragonstone. Addam was able to tame the Dragon Mist at age 15, riderless since the death of Laenor Velaryon. Such a feat so impressed Lord Corlys Velaryon and Prince Jacaerys that they asked Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen to recognize Addam as a member of House Velaryon, while also being knighted.

During the war, he fought alongside the rest of the Dragon Seeds and Jacaerys Velaryon against the Triarchy fleet in the Battle of the Gullet, where they achieved victory, despite the death of the prince and his dragon Vermax.

Midway through the war, following the Ladera Betrayals, Addam was accused of betraying Princess Rhaenyra and switching sides. He escaped with his dragon from his attempted arrest and legends say that he traveled to the Isle of Faces in search of advice, then returned with 4,000 men on his side. He died shortly after with his dragon after having finished with Vermithor and Tessarion in Ladera demonstrating that not all bastards are traitors and saving King's Landing.

After his heroic death, his bones were taken to the Tree of the Ravens and later returned in AD 138. to Marcaderiva. Her brother, Lord Alyn, only put one word on the epitaph on his grave: Loyal.

I will never understand why bastards are considered traitors for being created out of deception / treason. Fuck the Hammer, Ulf the white and Nettles; Addam and Alyn showed loyalty and courage, giving a good image to their house.
