Dream Love Live! Sunshine!! singing duos.

So after the release of the winter vacation album late last year, I had some thoughts. By watching and listening to various videos about dream pairings, I have compiled a list of three potential options that I would (personally) love to hear. My goal with this was to not use two people within the same sub-unit, since there are mixes out there that focus on said sub-unit. As for the trios, I wanted to see if I could make the perfect group of three instead of lumping this together and focusing on already existing formations. Explanations below the cut!

GROUP 1: KanaRiko, MariMaru, YohaRuby, YouChikaDia

This is the first option out of the three. I personally am a big fan of Kanan and Riko where their voices and songs are mixed together as it sounds so beautiful and elegant. They also of are different attributes, and don't come from the same sub-unit. I can personally see these two trying to do either a passionate ballad, or maybe some rock n' roll-y to play off of Riko being in Guilty Kiss. MariMaru to me would be something powerful, as they both have strong voices. I can hear them singing about generally anything and it would sound amazing. Yosh--I mean Yohane and Ruby are next. To me, this could be on pure chaotic energy judging by Yohane's fallen angel act and the weird vibes of Cotton Candy Ei! Ei! Oh! Also because I think these two could bounce off well with each other. Lastly, it's YouChikaDia. The trio I can picture singing something down to earth and calming, or maybe something with an energetic vibe while Dia has a slow part before going into full happy energetic mode.

GROUP 2: KanaYoha, MaruYou, ChikaMari, RikoDiaRuby

Also known as the "Possibly wholesome option". Kanan and Yohane are two people I think could do really well together, especially if Kanan is allowed to sing with her slow and more passionate voice which can be matched by Yohane. MaruYou I can see singing something down to earth still (sorry since Maru's voice is the first thing that comes to mind when I picture "down to earth") and it'd be lovely to the ears. Chika and Mari I could picture having the energetic song out of this bunch and have it be full of energy and cheerful vibes. Which leaves the last three as Riko, Dia, and Ruby. This would be a cute song in my mind, or maybe something a bit more on the relaxed side. Not as high energy as Chika and Mari, but more calm and less chaotic than Kanan and Yohane.

GROUP THREE: YohaMaru, KanaRuby, ChikaRiko, DiaMariYou

Also known as the chaotic but really nice sounding (in my head) group. YohaMaru would be the chaotic but calm duo I'd imagine, with very powerful voices. Maybe it'd be rock n' roll like where Yohane gives Hanamaru the full fallen angel fantasy experience for a day? KanaRuby I chose because of how sweet and innocent it would be. Kanan's voice is already adorable, so having Ruby there would make the song even more heartwarmingly joyful to listen to. It'd sound like the best hug you ever had from two people who believe in you. ChikaRiko is the classic duo, and I feel I kind of didn't want to put either or in the trio (since Chika has already been in one of them and same with Riko) just for variety sake. Last grouping is Dia, Mari, and You who I can see performing well together as a group. I can't remember when those three were specifically in the center of the song, but I can hear it working out in my mind.

Sorry for the text wall! But that's my opinion on who should be in a group for future special albums uwu

I know u can't predict the theme of an upcoming set, but what kind of theme would u like/wish for the new MariMaru set?

About the recent Punk Rock set

Good news - the fact that it’s a YohaRuby pair makes it easy to predict the next UR pair as MariMaru (due to these two being the only ones who don’t have a 5th UR yet).

Bad news - since the theme of the YohaRuby set was Punk Rock, there’s no way we’re gonna get a similar theme for the next set…meaning that I have to say a bitter farewell to the influenced-by-Mari industrial metalhead Maru that I hoped for as a potential UR theme :’(

As for a theme that I would think is actually possible - it’s tough to say, because this time of year is when predictions are difficult. The autumn months are for Halloween; December brings Christmas sets; January usually has some kind of New Year theme; February has always had Valentine’s Day cards. I’m actually slightly surprised that we got the Punk Rock set recently because I was expecting some kind of White Day set to arrive in time for March 15. I guess the SIF staff didn’t want to copy µ’s too much - and hey, I’m definitely not complaining about the Punk Rock cards.

Since the potential MariMaru URs are due on March 31 & April 15, I’m vaguely thinking that some kind of spring theme might happen. For example, back in 2017 we got the YohaMaru Animal set and there was plenty of green there:

2016 was no different with the EliMaki Baseball set, which also featured some nature scenery in the unidolized cards:

On the other hand, we did get a non-seasonal theme with the much-beloved Job v2 set around this time in 2015, which featured Coptori and Thief Eli:

While I wouldn’t be opposed to some kind of spring theme for a MariMaru pair - it does involve Hanamaru after all, so maybe some kind of Flower set would work - I’m lowkey hoping that SIF takes this time of year to pull out a new, creative theme.

Here are some ideas I have in mind:

Cowboy set, because…y’know.

But on the subject of cowboys, an Equestrian set would be a neat theme, especially since equestrian uniforms are really cool-looking. I’ve always had this headcanon that Maru likes hanging out with Starbright (Mari’s horse).

A Superhero set (let’s be real though, I want this to happen regardless of who the pair is). Maru can be something like THE ZURA-STIC GIRL and Mari can be the supervillain. :3c

Related: literally everyone and their mother (at least from what I’ve seen on the /r/SIF subreddit) has wanted a Magical Girl set since forever. I also happen to be in this camp.

Outer Space set, because MIRAI ZURAAAAAA

Some kind of Japanese Mythological Creatures set. We kind of got a taste of that with Maru as a tanuki in the April Fools video, but I was thinking more like tengu, kappa, oni, etc.

Since Mari has the rich girl thing going on and Maru is a bookworm, maybe some kind of Fairytale theme would fit as well.

Also, as Mari is the creator of Stewshine and Maru is known for being a big eater, something related to food or cooking would be fun. Maybe a Chef set?

SIF has been releasing some really nice sets lately, so whatever the theme turns out to be, I’m sure it’ll be great!
