What To Play At Your New Year's Party

New Year's Eve is a grand ole party for most people. And it's right around the corner. Some of you might be thinking, "Hey, what the hell are we going to do until the ball drops?". The obvious answer to that is get drunk. "But what are we going to do while we drink?" Ahh, that's the million dollar question. There's all sorts of things to do.

Let's start off with getting the drinking games out of the way. Yes, there is Beer Pong, Flip Cup, Quarters, and Kings. Along with a variety of other alcohol inducing riff raff. But that's not what we're here to go over, since everyone and their mother knows all those games, and is probably burnt out on them. So let's get some better ideas out there.

Board games. Yes, there are board games, but on a night like New Year's Eve, they're more like bored games. Too much to setup, or too many instructions to read. Have you ever read instructions while intoxicated? Better yet, have you ever tried explaining to a drunk person the difference between the "shoots" and "ladders"? Or why they have to wait three rolls of the dice to get out of jail in Monopoly. Yeah, try keeping a real drunk person in a fake jail whilst they recklessly drive their fake sports car around the board and all over your face. Save board games for a rainy or snowy day, right along with your puzzles.

Charades - nope not even going to go there.

Fifth Avenue Frogger Brings Real Traffic To Fake Frogs

This is an amazing concept. Take real time traffic and input it into a Frogger scenario. That's right, take your frogger and shoot him across Fifth Avenue in New York City, while playing on Fifth Avenue, and while watching the traffic on the screen simulate the traffic in front of your eyes on screen.

Real time tracking is not new technology but implementing it into this particular format is just awesome and I want to see more of it.

This video is a promotional video to get Frogger into the new exhibit at the Smithsonian called The Art Of Video Games for his 30th birthday. So pass this video along and lets help Frogger celebrate the big 3-0 in grand fashion.

Absolutely Amazing Battlefield 3 Kill

This is by far the sickest kill I've seen to date on Battlefield 3. Honestly, I wouldn't even think of pulling off this move, let alone attempting it... let alone attempting it, and actually completing it!

Thanks to StunGravy for being a sick nasty (or just lucky) player and posting this to his YouTube channel for us all to watch. And making me bruise my chin from my jaw dropping and hitting the ground so hard.

Fantastic Dubbing Of Game 5 Of 1986 World Series In RBI Baseball

This is a great dub. The creator, Conor Lastowka, who happens to also be a writer for RiffTrax.com, made this little gem. RiffTrax was created by the writers and actors from MST3K, and is similar as they spout riffs on the movies they watch. So, of course he would also be great at dubbing video games.

This video shows the video game RBI Baseball for the NES playing out game six of the 1986 World Series between the Boston Redsox and New York Mets. If you are unaware of this particular game, it's known to be one of the biggest games in baseball history. The game was a come from behind win, to lead the Mets into game seven where they won and became the World Series Champions.

This video is absolute gold in my opinion. It brings back nostalgia of playing this game with my best friend growing up. Also, it's awesome because I'm a Mets fan. So, putting these two together was genius.

Borderlands 2 Official Reveal Trailer

This newly released official reveal trailer for Borderlands 2 shows off some more of the game that is going to be one of the biggest for 2012. New characters, a new vehicle which shows four players riding in it, compared to the only two available seats in the original Borderlands 1 car (there was a four person tank, but only via dlc), a new skill tree, and the original 87 bazillion guns, just got more bazilliondier.

Borderlands was a ton of fun. If you haven't played it. You should pick up a cheap copy to warm you up for one of the biggest games for 2012, Borderlands 2.

This game can be played single player but emphasizes co-op gameplay of up to four people. With awesome comic cell-shaded type graphics, some hilarious dark comedy, and seriously an insane amount of guns all set in a dystopian Mad Max/Sci-Fi type of environment, this game really brings a TON of fun to the table.

This was a fantastic trailer. I've seen gameplay awhile ago, and am surprised it's not being released until Q3 of 2012. But that just means that this game should be freaking flawless. We shall wait and see.

Although, not always a fan, I thoroughly enjoyed the dubstep to this trailer.

Borderlands 2 will be released for Windows PC, Xbox 360, and PS3. Looting will begin on September 18th in the States, and September 20th Internationally.
