Back resting against the wall of Mark's driver room, legs curled beneath you, you flipped through your notebooks. Going through your notes, you occasionally jotted something down, deeming it worthy of potentially mentioning during any interviews later. The sound of the lock turning had your head snapping up in time to see Mark's tall stature fill the doorframe. His eyes landed on you instantly, and he wriggled through the small gap he had created, blocking you from view of whoever was on the other side. A few short sentences later, Mark had managed to provide an adequate excuse to be alone. The door shut with a quiet click and Mark assured you it was locked.
"What are you doing here?" Mark questioned, the soft smile on his face assuring he wasn't opposed to the sight of you in his room. "Shouldn't you be out bothering more important people?"
"More important than you?" You shot back. "I've been put in charge of the post-race interviews today so I've got a bit of a break."
Mark took note of your jacket hanging on the back of his door, and your shoes at the foot of his massage table. His things surrounded by your things. And he was warmed by how comfortable you were here. In an endeavour to find some peace admit the chaos of the paddock, you took refuge in his room. The notion stoked the little fire of possessiveness within him.
"So, you're just going to hide out here until the race?"
Your pile of snacks, the circle of papers around you, and his jumper hanging from your frame told him all he needed to know. He just wanted - no, needed - to hear you say it. Especially after he'd overheard some of the drivers teasing Vettel during the Parade. About you, and the internet's speculations. And how if the German ended up on the podium, then how could the "pretty interviewer" say no to a date. So, regardless of the fact that it was his name and number splashed across your body, he still needed to hear you say it. To confirm that you were his and his alone.
"Until I'm needed, then yes," you smiled, watching as he slowly approached.
The white fireproof clinging to his muscular arms flexed as he placed them on either side of you. His race suit was wrapped around his waist precariously, looking ready to fall apart with a slight tug.
He angled his head down towards you, cheeks dimpling when he grinned. "And if I say you're needed right now?"
Your arms looped around his neck, pulling him down to close the small gap he had left between you. "What exactly am I needed for, Mr Webber?"
His eyes darted down to your mouth, watching as your tongue darted out to wet your lips. Before you could register that he'd moved, his mouth was on yours, moving against you and swallowing your surprised squeak. His arms wound themselves around your midsection, pulling you closer. The warmth of his body pressed into you instantly, and you melted into his touch.
Sliding your hands into his hair, you tugged at the short strands so as to pull him off you in order to catch your breath. As he didn't need oxygen more than he needed you, Mark's lips continued moving. His lips moved across your jaw, under your ear and down to the fluttering pulse in your neck, leaving a fiery path as he moved. A whimper was pulled from you when he sucked gently, your back arching into him. Paper crinkled beneath you when he lowered you onto the bed.
"Mark," you moaned, "you don't have time."
"Shh," he whispered against your skin, crawling atop you, trapping you between his body and the massage table. It gave a groan of protest but he paid it no mind.
Not when your hands slid under his fireproofs, stroking the heated skin of his abdomen before trailing lower. With one pull, the knot of his race gave way, removing the cushioning that had prevented his hard length from pressing into you. A throaty groan escaped him when you rolled your hips against him.
Mark chuckled at your sudden eagerness. "What happened to not having enough time?"
"You shouldn't be so tempting."
Knowing that you craved him as much as he did you had Mark reconnecting your lips, moving with more fervour. Your lips parted, allowing his tongue to slide against yours. His hips jerked against you when you pulled his bottom lip into your mouth, sucking gently. Mark's hands slid down your hips, reaching around to palm your ass and pull you flush against him. The throbbing in his underwear intensified.
Two sharp raps on the door made your eyes snap open, fear flitting across your face when the door handle rattled. Mark pressed closer to you once more; not in lust but worry that someone would see you in the dishevelled state he had created. That was a sight for his eyes only.
Another knock came before a deep voice called out for the driver. "Christian wants to see you for a pre-race chat."
"What, now?"
"Yeah."
Mark groaned before looking down at you. Lipstick smeared, cheeks flushed and blotches darkening on your neck. He wasn't sure he could go outside. The image of you like this would stay with him, making him strain against the fabric of his suit.
"Go, my love," you whispered, tying his suit back around his waist, ensuring the arms carefully concealed the problem you had created. "And try not to collide with your teammate."
Well, the mention of his biggest rival this year was one way to soften him.
"You'll still be here when I get back? Before I jump in the car?" He pleaded.
He knew the answer. Of course he did. The routine had been the same for the past two years but, as before, he needed the verbal reassurance.
"And why would I do that?" You teased, snickering when the 6'1 man in front of you started to pout.
"Because how else would I get my pre-race kiss?"
"You could always ask Vettel."
The look on Mark's face turned from faux sadness to something much darker. You yelped when his teeth sunk into your neck before he pressed a soothing kiss on the mark he'd left (yes, I laughed at that). Shooting you a wink, he dashed out the door, and you were left alone once more.

In conversation with Y/n L/n about being a mother and a racing driver, and her what’s in store for her.
Known for her fierce driving and even fiercer spirit, has seamlessly transitioned into a life that’s as complex as it is rewarding. A name that echoes through the halls of motorsport history, her story is one of reinvention—a journey from high-speed thrills to quiet, profound moments of motherhood, and, possibly, a return to the racing world in an entirely new role.
The 2000s were Y/n’s golden years at Williams. Her raw talent shone even when the team’s fortunes dipped, and she quickly became a fan favorite. Known for her courage, sharp wit, and stunning moves on the track, she formed friendships with some of the sport's brightest stars—Mark Webber, Sebastian Vettel, and Jenson Button. Their bond, a cocktail of camaraderie and unspoken attraction, became as legendary as her driving.
But the glamorous world of F1, with its dazzling lights and high expectations, took a toll. In 2004, Williams made the decision to drop her from their roster—a move that would alter the course of her life forever. Y/n, at the time, found solace in the chaos. Late nights, parties, and the company of friends became her refuge.
"I wasn’t ready to let go of F1, but at that point, I wasn’t sure where I was headed." Y/n said as we chat in her London home. It’s a beautiful house with stained glass windows and the perfect amount of sunlight shining in. Her daughter is also present though she much prefers to continue with her reading as she cuddles up to her mother.
But in the unpredictable world of racing, the story of Y/n was far from over. A fresh start beckoned when McLaren offered her a seat, a move that many saw as her redemption arc. She embraced the opportunity, her focus sharper than ever. The partying ceased. The cigarettes were put out. It wasn’t just a return to the sport—it was a return to herself.
Her career, marked by precision and passion, came to an official close in 2014, but Y/n’s influence has never waned. Retirement, though, didn’t equate to slowing down. Today, Y/n is a mother—something that’s become a cornerstone of her identity.
“I’ve always been independent, but being a mom has redefined what it means to be strong," she says, her eyes softening. "It’s a different kind of challenge, but one I’m grateful for every single day.”
Her daughter, now nine, was born a year after her retirement. She had announced the birth on her social media with a simple caption: “welcome to the world, my beautiful girl”
“As a mom, I’ve learned the art of balancing," Y/n reflects. "There are days when I’m just a mom—no racing, no interviews, no drama. And then there are days when I’m reminded of who I was before all of this. It's about finding peace with both versions of myself.”
At this point, her daughter stops reading her book and places several kisses on her mother’s cheek. It was a beautiful moment between mom and daughter.
“The future is full of possibilities. I’m focused on what’s next, but I'm not in any rush. We’ll see what happens. Right now, I’m the happiest I’ve ever been.”
Motherhood may have softened some edges, but it has only sharpened her focus. If there’s one thing Y/n has taught us, it’s that the greatest drivers are those who can keep pushing, even when they’re driving toward the unknown.

“Welcome everyone to the paddock sessions podcast. I’m your host Dan and todays guest is a very special one. She is my favorite driver and I’m going to try not to freak out right now. Y/n L/n welcome to the paddock sessions!” Dan the host said into his microphone.
Y/n smiled and thanked Dan for the introduction. “Favorite driver? Dan, I’m flattered. I’ll pay you later.” She joked.
“You’re actually the reason my girlfriend watches formula 1. She watched your past races and was devastated when I told her you retired in 2014. I think she was thinking of breaking up with me because I told her,” Dan admitted. Y/n chuckled at his words. “But can we see a potential comeback for you? I know I’m not the only one that would love to see that!”
“Well I can’t really stay away from formula 1. I try to watch the races with my daughter, but she’s not interested in racing at all so I always end up watching them alone.” Y/n explained as she adjusted the microphone.
“Daughter of a racing driver isn’t interested in racing? That’s wild. But at least she knows that her mom is a legend in the sport, yeah?” Dan asked.
“She’s reminded every time we go out and I’m stopped because someone wants an autograph or a picture,” Y/n laughs. “But she knows the basics, she knows what all the number means, she’s a smart girl.”
“Amazing. Um, on the topic of your daughter, and you can stop me if you want, you’ve always been an open book in many ways, yet when it comes to your daughter’s father, you’ve kept things private. How hard has it been to keep things like that private? I imagine it must be frustrating.”
Y/n nodded and cleared her throat. “I’ve always believed in protecting my daughter’s privacy, and for me, that extends to the people closest to us. I’ll say this: my daughter is incredibly lucky to have the most amazing father. He’s the kind of dad who would do anything to keep her safe and happy. I know she’s growing up in a secure and loving environment because of him. He’s protective, but in the best way possible.”
“Have you seen the tweets regarding it?” Dan asked curiously.
“Oh yeah, it’s all over my feed. I’ve actually read some pretty crazy shit about the father of my daughter.” Y/n said.
“Any favorites?”
“There’s a thread that was posted recently on why Lewis is the father of my daughter. I love Lewis, but I can confirm he is not. He’s actually the godfather.”

The sun had barely dipped below the Gold Coast horizon when you decided to commit your first cardinal sin of the weekend.
You were sprawled across the outdoor sofa on the deck, legs thrown over Mark’s lap, one of his big hands resting possessively on your bare thigh while the other nursed a beer.
The air smelled like salt and eucalyptus and the faint charcoal smoke from the barbecue he’d insisted on manning earlier, because apparently turning fifty in three months had turned him into a “proper dad” who grilled things with tongs and everything.
You tilted your head back against the cushion, watching him through your lashes.
“You know,” you started, voice syrup-sweet, “you really shouldn’t be drinking that. Calcium’s important at your age. Gotta keep those brittle old bones strong.”
Mark didn’t even look up from the horizon. Just took a slow, deliberate sip, throat working.
“Keep talking, sweetheart,” he murmured. “See where it gets you.”
You grinned, stretching like a cat, letting the little silk slip dress ride up another inch.
“I’m just saying. You’re basically a grandpa now. Should be reading the grandkids bedtime stories. Knitting. Collecting those little ceramic kangaroos.”
He finally turned his head. Blue eyes narrow, amused, dangerous.
“We don’t have grandkids.”
“Yet,” you singsong. “Give it a few years. You’ll be chasing toddlers around with a walker. ‘Careful now, Pop, don’t want to throw your hip out again.’”
He set the beer down on the side table with a soft clink. The sound felt louder than it should’ve.
“You’re really leaning into this tonight, aren’t you?”
You shrugged one shoulder, all innocence. “I’m just looking out for you, old man. Wouldn’t want you pulling something trying to keep up with me. You know… in bed. You’re not as spry as you used to be.”
That did it.
Mark moved faster than a man pushing fifty had any right to. One second you were teasing, the next your wrists were pinned above your head in one of his hands, his body half-caging you against the cushions.
The silk of your dress had ridden up so high the lace edge of your underwear was showing. He didn’t even glance down. He just stared at your face like he was trying to decide whether to kiss you or throttle you.
Or both.
“Say it again,” he said quietly. Voice low. Rough around the edges like gravel.
You licked your bottom lip, slow. Deliberate.
“You’re old, Mark. Ancient. Practically fossilized. If we have sex tonight you might shatter a vertebra. Or worse, pull a hamstring. Then what? I’ll have to explain to the physio why my old husband—”
He kissed you hard enough to shut you up.
Not gentle. Not sweet. The kind of kiss that tasted like challenge and beer and twenty years of knowing exactly how to make you melt. When he pulled back you were already breathless, lips swollen, pupils blown.
“You think I can’t handle you?” he asked against your mouth. “Think I’m too old to fuck my wife properly?”
Your laugh came out shaky. “I think you’re gonna need to prove it, grandpa.”
Something flickered in his eyes, dark, hungry, a little mean.
“Alright.”
He let go of your wrists. Sat back. Looked at you like you were prey that had just made a very stupid mistake.
“One week,” he said. Voice steady now. Dangerous calm. “Starting Monday. Every single day. I’m going to rail you until you can’t walk straight, until you’re crying my name, until the only thing you can remember is that this ‘old man’ still knows how to ruin you.”
Your breath hitched. You tried to play it cool. Failed spectacularly.
“And if I can’t keep up?” you whispered.
His smile was slow. Filthy.
“Then you admit I’m not too old. And you apologise. Properly.”
You swallowed. Hard.
“Deal.”
He stood up, towering over you for a second before offering his hand. You took it. He pulled you to your feet so fast you stumbled into his chest.
“Good girl,” he murmured, brushing his thumb across your bottom lip. “Now let’s see how much trouble that smart mouth of yours can handle before Monday.”
He walked you backwards through the sliding doors, never breaking eye contact. The house was quiet except for the soft click of the lock behind you.
Inside the bedroom he didn’t rush.
He backed you against the wall beside the dresser, hands sliding up your thighs, pushing the silk higher and higher until he could hook his fingers in the lace of your panties.
“Look at you,” he said, voice gravel-rough. “Already soaked and I’ve barely touched you. Thought I was the one who was supposed to be too old to get it up.”
You whimpered when he tugged the fabric aside, fingertips brushing through your slick folds, teasing, not giving you what you wanted.

Then the reverence disappeared.
He spun you around. Pressed your chest to the wall. Dragged your panties down your legs until they caught on your ankles. Kicked your feet wider apart.
You felt the blunt head of him nudge against you, thick, hot, already leaking.
