Vulture anon again, it was 4am when I made that confession and I was sure I forgot someone ... Marnie.

Everyone complains about her being closed on certain days or wanting to save her from Lewis, but what bothers me about her is the way she doesn't seem to take seriously Shane's depression and sometines makes jokes about his alcoholism (7 heart event) like what the fuck dude? That's a good way to make someone kill themselves for real, I might be biased on this as well because I struggle both with depression and suicide idealizaton and I have the same type of assholes in my life doing what Marnie does (worse than her but still) but man do I hate how people seem to kind of ignore this behaviour of hers

The best parent in the game is Linus.

Everyone else sucks and I give Kent the only pass cause he knows his issues and is trying but ptsd from war is no joke. That said I can’t give Shane the same pass cause he doesn’t bring Jas with him when he moves and leaves her in the back room behind the lit fireplace surrounded by hay in marines house. Demetrius is a helicopter parent with maru Robin is a helicopter parent with Sebastian (neither one of them will decide to do right by their fave kid by chilling out so the sibling rivalry can end) Pam… is Pam. Caroline blames Pierre but she’s the one constantly harping on Abby even complaining to a stranger about her daughters hair color and how strange she is. Pierre needs therapy his obsession with money seems fear based and it keeps him from being present more with Caroline and Abby, Jodi wtf is wrong with that woman. Perpetual victim. She wants her kids to stay young and innocent and she won’t even let them clean but freaks out over a spilled egg and then gets really weird during one of sams heart scenes that makes it sound like she busted in on him having private time and he’s supposed to be in his early 20’s like this is giving “boy mom” and I know people say oh it’s cause she didn’t want Kent to miss them growing up that’s so much worse actually, like legitimately its abuse to stunt your children’s growth for any reason. Haley and Emily’s parents are just gone. Marnie again fire safety but also her obsession with staring at the microwave. George and Evelyn homophobic and such a sweet old lady but should not be raising kids with this angry homophobic man. This is why Alex is the way he is.

And the wizard…. I mean just all of that doesn’t matter if his kid is Abby or Jas he’s terrible

Leah and Lewis and Demetrius and Marnie would've been better couples. Marnie wants stability, a man who is always there. Demetrius has far more to offer in the department, and he's more grounded. Likewise, Leah wants a more exciting, broken, dark romance man if her past with Kel is anything to go by. She'd understand Lewis far better than Marnie could: Marnie is too shallow to understand the depths of public image and civic duties, and probably only started being Lewis’s mistress for the mayoral benefits anyway.

Hot takes about the villagers:

I don't like Maru because she looks like the murderous doll Chucky, and also because Demetrius treats her better/like she is worth more or more special than Sebastian.

Also don't like Penny because she is too whiny.

Marnie is lazy and annoying to me (not just because she dips out from work).

Clint is just plain pathetic in every aspect of his life and character.

Gil: I forget he exists 99% of the time. I wonder what's his relationship with Marlon and why do they live together the adventure guild's building

Marnie: This bitch never opens her shop when I need it, like who the hell close on monday and tuesday??? But asides from that I have nothing against her. She's one of the few characters who I decided to like based on first impression and thank god she doesn't have any dirt on her

Shane: I didn't like him back when I didn't know he had depression and was stuck in a dead end job, I still don't like him now after I know all of that. I can see why people like him and want to marry him, but I personally don't want anything to do with him

Pierre: I've never liked him. I did feel sorry for him when Morris came into his store and stole all of his customer but the feeling lasted as long as the cutscene itself. Once again thanks to youtube videos, I now hate his guts and try my best to be self sufficient so I don't have to buy from him. I never sold anything to him so at least he didn't get to profit from my produce

Caroline & Abigail: I barely know anything about them and I don't care enough to learn so I lump them together. Apparently Pierre treats them badly? And their hair colors are unnatural because one of them is the wizard's kid? And Abigail likes to eat rocks? Talk about a dysfunctional family

Harvy: Who? No seriously he's second to Gil in terms of being forgettable. Seeing him "dance" alone at the Luau was a bit funny
