I desperately want a fic in which Sherlock was born in France and goes to London to study abroad for university. John and Sherlock meet in uni and become good friends. Pretty soon, Sherlock decides that when he graduates he’s going to be a consulting detective in London (I mean, he’s been helping on cases with the Yard so he’s already got connections in the city), but he knows he’ll be expected to go back to France when his student visa is up. And he’ll be inventing his own job so it’s unlikely he’ll be able to get a work visa. Uh oh, what to do? John is obviously very interested in helping his friend with his predicament, so… Maybe they should get married?

Yeah, it’s a bit insane and extreme and weird but they already share a dorm so living together wouldn’t be new to either of them and they already spend all their time together and nearly everyone they know thinks they’re already dating so no one would be suspicious, but yeah it’s a bit weird and maybe John shouldn’t have suggested it. But “No, John! That’s a perfectly logical solution. Are you certain you want to do this? I can’t see what you get out of this, what do you get out of this?” Then John briefly explains that he’s getting his best friend to stay in the country out of this and Sherlock responds with a great deal of blinking and the admission that John is his best friend too. So they agree to get married and after a few months they seal the deal with a small ceremony and a handful of witnesses (Greg, Molly, and Mike were happy to volunteer).

Fast forward ten years and their lives are exactly the same as we have seen. John picks up shifts at the surgery, Sherlock is consulted by the Yard and takes clients, and together there’s takeout, crap telly, and cases. They’re married, and unknown to everyone around them, just platonically so.

Neither of them are quick to point it out, but something reminds them of the fact that, very soon, they’ll have been together long enough that no eyebrows will be raised if they divorce. And that was the plan all along right? Only problem: John and Sherlock are both totally in love with the man they’ve married, and are completely convinced that neither feels the same.

Sherlock is going to get shot at some point in the future. It won’t be fatal, and Sherlock will be fully conscious when John gets to him. John will drop to his knees and Sherlock will ready himself for the doctorly tone and exasperated wisecracks, as is their stock in trade. What Sherlock won’t be prepared for is the sheer panic written on John’s face, the terror in his voice as he takes Sherlock’s face in his shaking hands, presses his forehead against Sherlock’s, and breathes, “Not you too, not you, please. Not you. Please not you. Please.” And Sherlock will be taken aback at first, uncomprehending in the presence of such an uncharacteristic display of fear in his blogger, but he’ll understand after a moment, after a minute of having his face held so tightly as to border on pain, of John gasping out trembling breaths and pleas and “not you”’s. And Sherlock will reach up and put a steadying hand on John’s shoulder, crack a smile, and ask, “Where did my Doctor Watson go?” And John will blink, close his eyes, and his breathing will even out. Then he’ll huff out a shaky laugh and open his eyes. He’ll lean forward and press a kiss to Sherlock’s forehead. “Sorry, I guess he stepped out for a minute.” They’ll giggle until Sherlock winces in pain and John will hum an apology as he starts applying pressure to the wound. 

When the paramedics get there, they’ll find two men looking much too unbothered by the current circumstances. Sherlock will be lifted into the ambulance, and John won’t have to fight them to get in as well. The matching wedding rings will be enough of an explanation.

Maybe I'll make a multi-chaptered marriedlock/parentlock/unilock thing where people can send me prompts if they feel like, and I'll make it work in the universe. We'll see. *shrugs*

"And then we met years later and got married. The end. Now can I leave with my wife or do the rest of you want to join us during our honeymoon?" snapped Sherlock eyeing everyone round the table. 

Lycan suddenly sprang forward clinging to his leg. "Daddy! Do you really have to go? Even Aurelia gets to go with you!"

"Why can't I also be inside mum?" whined Lycan. 

Sherlock squeezed his eyes shut for a second, trying to call off the laugher that threatened (his son did really take after him sometimes and Molly as well), as he slowly dislodged his son who'd turned rather limp at his leg, soon bending down to meet him eye to eye. "You already left, I'm afraid, but it doesn't mean you've left - " he pressed a finger against his son's chest. It didn't lessen the pout, but it did make his sons sniffs less prominent. "Here," he said softly. 

"Promise?"

"Promise...Now I already know what Rosy's getting for her birthday and I think the two of you can enjoy it while your mother and I are away. Spoilers - it's a new console," he said smiling as his son quickly gave him a hug, before sprinting off excitedly. 

"You're just a big softie," said a voice he recognized easily and he got to his feet to see his wife standing amused. "You know that?"

"Are you going to cry again?"

"No," she said in a much brighter voice. "But we really do need to catch the flight..."

"Yes - we mustn't miss our sex holiday after all-," he said grabbing her to him, at which she mock gasped until he dropped a soft kiss on her smiling lips.

"He's a bit weird-," she said with the landline pressed against her ear, as she was laid out on her bed. 

"What do you mean weird - are we talking sexy deviant weird, or panty sniffing weird?" said Meena on the other end. 

"Why does everything have to be about sex?"

"It's not! Come on - what kind of bloke is he?"

"He's handsome, I suppose-," said Molly with a thoughtful expression. "A bit of an idiot though."

"How come?"

"That's what I mean with weird - he just says things - and I know he's not being mean or anything, but he just comes off as mean? If you know what I mean?"

"Nooo - not really - sounds like a right nutter."

"No, I think he's really nice actually."

"Ohhh, are you saying you have a thing for your flatmate then?"

"Nah, he's not really my type and - oh my god - the door is - shit-," she smacked the door shut, not that it helped to muffle her voice more than a little bit, though it did help when she spoke with a low voice. 

It was fine.

He was fine. 

He didn't like her. 

No. 

When Molly finally left her bedroom and gave him a small smile - and he almost burned himself on the Bunsen burner, he debated with himself that he was perhaps wrong.

"Do you remember our first time?" she said with a wistful sigh, hair fanned out on his chest, as she drew lazy circles on his sides that tickled briefly. 

"Impossible to forget."

"You tried to."

"I was much more stubborn then."

She snorted. 

"I was," he said. "Anyway you were the one who didn't want us to ever speak about it again."

"I thought you didn't want to..."

"And I was the fool for not chasing after you."

"Sherlock, it's alright...we're-,"

"It's just very annoying to have to think about my blatant stupidity."

She smiled at him softly, eyes sparkling. "I do that every day, you'll get used to it." 

"Oh really?" he said turning them around, so he was grinding his hips against hers, hearing her moan against him.
