To take Magneto you the Jewish Holocaust Survivor and make him a leader of the Spanish Inquisition is just repugnant. It is a disgusting thing to do Jews everywhere and it removes who is truly culpable of who the horrors of the Spanish (and Portuguese) Inquisition and instead puts on the very victims of said Inquisition, Sephardi Jews.

Like Marvel 1602 really said lets take this Jewish character and put him in this role, but it is okay because it is going to be about mutants not Jews and he'll try his best to save some of them.

there's something i don't understand, marvel's ceo ike perlmutter is jewish, like, dude's an asshole and a trump supporter so i expect him to be racist sexist and homophobic, but this? why is he doing this?

Honestly, my best guess is that they’re banking on the controversy making people curious and therefore profiting on it.

The more I think on it the angrier I get about it. In fact, I just did a long educational post on my Facebook because I know a lot of my Jewish friends would be unaware of it and give the company money. I just am so disappointed in the company. Just when you think they can’t get worse, they do this. If there was any chance of me considering to see GotG2, it’s sure as shit gone now. 

Hell, once I find a good rip, I’ll host a public viewing. 

It just proves, once again that anti-Semetism is A. alive and well. And B. doesn’t have to be violent or loud to be there. It’s subtly is what continues to give it life and allow it to thrive. I for one refuse to be apart of it and it disgusts me that Perlmutter is.

While Boycotting Marvel we should be boycotting Disney too.

They have before buying Marvel a long history of antisemitism and that has continued after they bought Marvel.

I can not even count how many times they have done blatant antisemitic shit in their Disney Channel shows and movies.

Disney has and continues to be incredibly antisemitic. Do not forget that Disney really has shown time and again that hate Jews.

Or (with moonknight) we might get another Movie Magneto, where there's like one shown connection to him being jewish (but the word jewish is never spoken aloud) and then ignored for the rest of all of the films. Even though Magneto's whole character and drive is built on him being jewish.

He is Jewish, but it is never said outright, he never has to deal with current antisemitism, gets played by a goy, never actually says he is Jewish, doesn’t really acknowledge his Jewishness, his Jewishness gets treated like something that can be removed or taken off.

And most of his actions are kinda shady and wrong. He never participates in his own culture or interacts with his people.

Just like Movie Magneto. Anon you hit the nail on the head.
