Thor #2 Review

It’s that time again!  I recently read the second issue of the newest Thor comic series and it looks like the snark has continued.  As always, support your local comic shops and let Marvel feel the love!

In Thor #1, Loki literally gets dragged to Hel by Thor, and into a war to save the realms from Malekith.  Thor and Loki (and their weird menagerie of demonic farm animals) meet up with Balder and Skurge, who have seen too many Mad Max films.  Cue Thor’s endless supply of hammers, an undead family reunion and more manly hugs than you can shake Mjolnir at.  Loki will be lucky if he survives this.

Conclusion: This series is still just as comedic and entertaining in the second issue.  It’s a fun read even if you don’t know who these people are.  I’m still not a fan of the weird painted style of art, but the writing is hilarious!  It helps that the majority of the comedic parts involve Loki.

Thor #3 Review

The third issue of the new Thor comic came out and...I just...don’t know where this comic is going.  It’s one hell of a ride, though xD

The story continues in Hel, where Balder claims to rule but then Hela shows up and is all “no this is my realm get out losers”.  I had to make this list to sort everyone out:

Thor, Balder and Tyr are brothers Loki is their adopted brother Hela & Fenris (wolf) are Loki’s kids  Skurge is Balder’s henchman All you need to know is half of this family hates the other half, everyone but Thor (usually) wants Loki dead, and the comic opens with Balder marrying his niece.  In other words, it’s a Marvel soap opera.

In conclusion, Marvel is trying to give me anxiety with this twist.  Loki is the only one technically alive at this point.  I have no idea what their relationship is in the comics, but I swear if Thanos so much as looks menacingly in his direction, I’m rioting.
