To be held in a soft cloak, to be protected by sharp daggers
Still not over how the show casually got rid off the cloak and never replaced it with anything but a plain hoodie. I was hoping that they will at least use the pieces left to modify the hoodie, since the cloak was so important, but apparently no. It was just discarded.

Makoto Naegi, Susan Storm, Emma Frost, and Tandy Bowen encounter a little boy who look like Makoto but with blonde hair. He called Makoto daddy, surprising everyone. When asked who is his mother, the boy think it is one of the three heroines but can't remember who exactly. The ladies discussed who most likely to be the boy's mother which soon turned into an argument while Makoto's brain short-circuited from the thoughts of having a child with one of these blonde beauties.
The city hummed with a familiar, low thrum, a symphony of distant sirens and late-night chatter. But for Makoto Naegi, Susan Storm, Emma Frost, and Tandy Bowen, their current patrol was usually a quiet affair, a routine check on the city's less-traveled sectors. Makoto, the 'Ultimate Hope' turned 'Beacon,' his Luck-based powers manifesting as subtle probability manipulation and an uncanny ability to inspire, walked a little behind the formidable trio.
Susan Storm, the Invisible Woman, shimmered faintly as she scanned the rooftops, her force fields a constant, almost imperceptible hum around her. Emma Frost, the White Queen, moved with an almost regal grace, her diamond form glinting under the streetlights, telepathically sifting through the city's mental noise. Tandy Bowen, Dagger, radiated a soft, warm light, her light daggers ready, her empathy a guiding beacon.
"All clear on my end," Susan reported, her voice calm and steady.
"Just the usual late-night anxieties and a cat stuck in a tree," Emma drawled, a hint of amusement in her tone.
"And a surprisingly happy couple arguing over pizza toppings," Tandy added with a gentle smile.
Makoto chuckled, "Sounds like a Tuesday."
Suddenly, a small, bright-haired blur shot out from behind a dumpster, nearly tripping over Makoto's feet. He was a boy, no older than five or six, with wide, hopeful blue eyes and a shock of sunny blonde hair that flopped over his forehead. And he looked exactly like Makoto, if Makoto had been miniaturized and dipped in sunshine.
The boy stumbled, then righted himself, his gaze fixing on Makoto. A huge grin split his face. "Daddy!" he squealed, launching himself forward.
Makoto, usually quick on his feet, froze. "W-what?" he stammered, catching the small, surprisingly solid weight. The boy wrapped his arms around Makoto's neck, squeezing tight.
The three heroines, who had been about to check on the source of the sudden appearance, stopped dead. Silence descended, broken only by the distant city hum.
Susan's eyes widened, a rare flicker of pure shock on her usually composed face. Emma's telepathic shield wavered for a split second, her diamond form hardening imperceptibly. Tandy's light shimmered, then dimmed, her smile replaced by an expression of utter bewilderment.
"Daddy, you found me!" the boy giggled, pulling back just enough to beam up at Makoto. "I got lost looking for you and Mommy!"
Makoto's brain, usually so resilient, began to sputter. "Lost? Mommy? Who… who's your mommy, little guy?" he managed, his voice a strained whisper.
The boy tilted his head, his blonde brows furrowing adorably. He looked from Susan, to Emma, to Tandy, then back to Makoto. "She's… she's got blonde hair!" he declared confidently. He pointed at Emma. "And she's super strong!" He pointed at Susan. "And she can float!" He pointed at Tandy. "And she's really bright!" He clapped his hands. "She's all of you!"
The silence returned, heavier this time.
Makoto's face was a masterpiece of internal combustion. Blonde hair… super strong… float… really bright… His gaze darted between the three incredibly powerful, incredibly beautiful women standing before him, each of whom fit some part of the description.
Susan was the first to speak, her voice tight. "He thinks… one of us is his mother?"
Emma's perfectly sculpted eyebrow arched. "Darling, he just said she's 'all of us.' Which, considering our disparate power sets and personalities, is… biologically improbable." She crossed her arms, her diamond form catching the light. "Though, I am super strong in this form, and certainly have blonde hair."
Tandy gasped, a hand flying to her mouth. "But I'm bright! And I can kinda float when I'm using my powers, right? And I'm blonde too!" Her eyes, wide with confusion, darted to Makoto. "Makoto, did you…?"
Susan, ever the scientist, stepped forward. "Hold on. Let's be rational. He looks like Makoto, yes. But 'super strong' could refer to Emma's diamond form, or even my force fields. 'Float' could be my flight, or Tandy's light-gliding. And all three of us are blonde." She narrowed her eyes at Emma. "Though I've never known you to 'float,' Emma, unless you count a very expensive private jet."
Emma scoffed. "My dear, with my telekinetic abilities, I could float you to the moon if I so desired. And let's not forget, I am a natural blonde. Unlike some people who might require… salon assistance." She shot a pointed look at Susan, whose natural hair color was, in fact, blonde.
"Excuse me?" Susan retorted, a faint, almost imperceptible shimmer of a force field forming around her. "My hair is perfectly natural! And I've known you to change your hair color with your mood, Emma!"
"Oh, so we're talking about natural now?" Tandy piped up, her light flaring slightly. "Because my light is completely natural! And I am blonde! And Makoto, you did say once that my light was 'really bright' and 'hopeful'!" Her voice rose slightly, a hint of desperation in it. "Does he mean me?"
Makoto's brain, meanwhile, had officially short-circuited. A child. My child. With… Susan? The brilliant, kind, powerful leader? Or Emma? The sharp, formidable, undeniably alluring telepath? Or Tandy? The empathetic, radiant, incredibly sweet source of light? The possibilities, each more mind-boggling than the last, swirled into a chaotic vortex. His face had gone pale, then blotchy red. He was sweating.
The boy, oblivious to the rising tension, just snuggled closer to Makoto. "Daddy, are we going home now? Mommy said we needed to find you for dinner."
"Dinner?!" Makoto choked, his eyes wide with terror and a strange, nascent warmth.
"He called you 'Daddy'," Emma said, her voice now laced with a dangerous edge, "which implies a certain… intimacy."
"And he looks just like you!" Susan added, her gaze flicking between Makoto and the boy, a frown deepening on her brow. "The resemblance is uncanny."
"But I was just saying how I have light powers, and I'm blonde!" Tandy insisted, her light flaring brighter, almost defensively. "It makes more sense!"
"Darling, you're sweet, but 'super strong' is a descriptor he used first," Emma countered, her diamond form glinting. "And my powers are far more… robust."
"My force fields are robust!" Susan interjected, a small, controlled force field popping into existence around her hand. "And I can fly! Which is a form of floating!"
"But my light is really bright!" Tandy cried, a tiny, harmless light dagger forming in her palm. "And Makoto said so! He said my light was 'hopeful'!"
The argument escalated, a flurry of blonde hair, shimmering energy, and telepathic barbs. Susan's force fields crackled faintly, Emma's diamond form gleamed with a sharper edge, and Tandy's light pulsed with agitated energy.
Makoto, still holding the small boy, swayed on his feet. The child looked up at him with innocent, trusting eyes. "Daddy, why are Mommy's friends arguing?"
Makoto could only manage a strangled noise, somewhere between a whimper and a gasp. His brain, already fried, was now actively smoking. The idea of a future with any of these incredible women was enough to send him spiraling, but a future with a child, a blonde child, who was so clearly his…
He just hoped his 'Ultimate Luck' extended to not spontaneously combusting from sheer, overwhelming bewilderment. Because right now, the only thing he was certain of was that his life had just taken a very, very unexpected turn. And he had no idea which blonde beauty was going to be explaining it to him.
