Careful Approach

It's been a hot second y'all! I am currently suffering through finals week, so I will be inactive 🫡 A few people have requested some stuff in my inbox, which I'll get around to (hopefully) soon

You must tread carefully with Gamora in front of you. You lock eyes with Peter, who’s holding an unconscious child in his hands. Nodding at him, you cautiously step towards Gamora.

Godslayer is tight in her grip, blood dripping off the blade. You see her hands are shaking, smeared blood covered on her fingers and cheeks. Her face is hidden from her long locks of hair. 

“Gamora,” you murmur softly.

She doesn’t respond, stiff as the trained warrior Thanos created her for. You call her again, stepping over the two bodies slayed by Gamora. “You’re okay. You defeated the enemies, and the kid is safe with Peter,” you assure her.

Gamora’s shoulders relax slightly. Her stance doesn’t move, her feet planted firmly beside the corpses. “I’m gonna touch you, okay?” You slowly reach your hand out.

She doesn’t lurch away when you tug at her hand. You pull her away from the bodies, pressing your back against the cement wall behind you in a nearby alleyway. Godslayer clatters to the floor before her hands fall limply to her side.

Gamora tucks her head between your neck and shoulder. You gently rub her back as you hear soft sobs leave her lips. Her breath begins to even out as she slowly calms down. 

Cupping the side of her cheek, you press your forehead against Gamora’s. Her hand shakily grasps your wrist. Blood smudges on your skin, but you don’t mind. You’ll do all you can to make sure Gamora is okay.
