Black Cat: Hero of New York

S01E01: Back to the Basics

Plot:

Five years has passed since the death of Spider-Man. Felicia Hardy is still making good on her word of giving up a life of crime and has been teaching art at an elementary school. Wilson Fisk's men have been keeping a close eye on her and sees that she grew a bond to one of her students, Billy Connors. Fisk's men informs Felicia about the kidnapping of the Lizard's son, so she suits up as Black Cat to rescue him. Felicia fought off the kidnappers, help gets Billy to safety with his mother, and torches the warehouse that was holding Billy and most of Fisk's money. George Stacy and Jefferson Davis show up to the scene and tries to figure out how it was caused. Fisk is at his office being in a bad mood because some of his money is gone and Black Cat got away. A woman named Odessa Drake comes up to Fisk and makes a deal with him to get what they both want. The next day at school, Felicia is in the student lounge and is met by the new science teacher, Bobbi Morse. Bobbi informs Felicia that if she slips up and goes back to stealing, she will let everyone in New York know who Felicia Hardy really is.

I read my first comic or anything for that matter in 2 and a half months!

I’m a little disoriented, I don’t know anything about Mockingbird, this final issue didn’t help but I felt like I had to buy it to support Chelsea Cain, more diversity, gender equality and just more female heroes, yo!

Thank you, Chelsea. This was a fun read even though none of it made any sense.
