What if killing Knuckles wasn’t exactly on purpose. Hear me out. He made Knuckle’s phone explode. Def would cause damage. But what if he wasn’t trying to kill him, jsut take him out of the picture. What’s Knuckles famous for?

Imagine if Tail’s plan was just to intially injure Knuckles by destroying his hands, leaving him unable to fight. And if it managed to heal, the trauma could’ve most likely scarred him from not wanting to come back in the hero game. Seemed on Tails phone he was calling Knuckles in order to activate it. But imagine if Knuckles perhaps dozed off, leaving the phone right on his own face or perhaps was holding it the wrong way & instead of his hand getting the hit….

Compared to what he was going to do with Shadow & Amy he wasn’t smiling. In fact he looked…out of it, in shock. Maybe he was in shock, realizing he accidentally killed Knuckles. But instead of admitting what he did, he doubled down, now making his things fatal. Perhaps etheir seeing it as a faster way to get rid of the competition…or maybe to keep himself from feeling bad about what he did. Maybe his whole insistence on them being “impostors” is his way to try to not process feeling regret about what he’s done, rationalize what he did as something he had/has to do. Sometimes people double down on bad actions cause they don’t want to admit they made a big mistake.
