Making of Manfred Pt.1
I had a bunch of people ask me how I made my Manfred Cosplay from Dragon Age The Veilguard, and even more people surprised with how I did it. So I am going to make a tutorial walk-through of how I made the mask! (If people are curious about the costume, I can talk about that too.)

Tutorial: Zacharieās Masks [from OFF]
Ah ha ha! Salut, friends! I bring to you a very easy guide on how I made both of Zacharieās masks from the video game, āOFFāĀ š» (or at least, I hope my explanations are understood easily lolol. Hopefully my scatterbrain didnāt forget anything...) ā
Fabric masks: why and how to make them
Yes, fabric masks help, and yes! You can donate them! Medical centers everywhere are in a shortage of disposable N95 masks, and as a result medical workers are forced to use them for days in order to conserve them. While cotton masks are not as effective as medical grade surgical masks, they free up much needed stock until suppliers can keep up with demand. Cotton masks keep you from touching your mouth and nose, block large particles, and serve as a visual reminder to social distance.
Below is a form where you can donate already completed masks and be matched with a facility in need. The site also offers 2 free patterns that are accepted by most facilities. Or better yet, reach out to your local hospital, cancer care center, nursing home, vet clinic, or anywhere you can think of that uses masks and offer to sew for them (some places only accept certain patterns, types of fabric, masks w filter pockets, etc.)
Volunteer to sew masks from your home. We match them with those in need.
However, you donāt have to donate them at all! You can make some for your family and friends so they can save money on disposable masks (and lighten up on demand)! ((Or, you can just sell them.))
Whatever you choose to do or not do, please donāt discourage others for making or wearing fabric masks or masks in general. It all helps. And you can make a big impact on your community with some cotton, time, and effort.
I made a mask for my partnerās Susie cosplay from dead by daylight. Itās paper mache and I figured Iād give a general idea or how I made it. TheyĀ ābracesā are just square beads. The cracks are a little inaccurate because I prioritized by partnerās vision and where they would line up with their eyes.
DIY Handsewn Face Mask (time: approx 45 minutes-1 hour, cost: not terribly much)
hello friends, and welcome to whatever this is. i make masks for fun and profit (you can visit our nerdy etsy at Totally Not CursedĀ to see/potentially buy our nonsense if you want). however, it appears that while there are many no-sew mask tutorials kicking around, there are VERY fewĀ āi can sew kind of a straight line but i donāt have a sewing machine, BUT i have a needle and thread and some fabricā tutorials.Ā
please feel free to share/circulate!Ā
this is where i come in. welcome to janaās school of half-assed sewing. today, weāre making this:Ā
youāre welcome, enjoy my face and the fact that itās bright af and washes everything out. ANYWAY.Ā
materials needed:Ā
2x pieces of 8ā³ish by 10ā³ish 100% cotton fabric. you can also use t-shirts, old pants, whatever. i bought fabric at joannās because any excuse to buy fabric.Ā
2x pieces of 7ā³ish 1/4ā³ elastic. you can also use cut-up stretchy headbands (you know the ones), or more pieces from t-shirts, but keep in mind you might have to cut them longer/shorter depending on stretch. i also have a small face, so 7ā³ works for me. i cut 9ā³ elastic for menās/larger faces.)
a hand-sewing needle!
scissors
measuring tape/ruler
thread (i like gutermann, but any cotton/poly thread will do. do NOT get sulky thread, bc that stuff snaps in a stiff breeze and youāll hate working with it.)
pins (you can use binder clips, paper clips or the other needles in the pack if you donāt have pins, itās fine. you can also just kind of wing it and hold the fabric together while you sew.)
tutorial continues under the cut!
