nova and max are literally the first two characters i think of when someone says child soldier and child weapon and their dynamic is so dear to me bcs wdym nova saw this child in his gilded cage and immediately was like so?? is no one gonna talk about?? how messed this is?? and then proceeded to befriend and help him and be protective despite her whole "dont get attached to anyone here" schtick

Oh yeah I finished my reread of Archenemies (audiobook) and spoilers but I forgot Max got stabbed at the end of the book! I forgot! About that! Even though it was the catalyst for Adrian's vengeance arc!

Also poor kid two for two stabbed in each book thus far because I can't remember if he got stabbed again in Supernova because I haven't read these books since like 2020.

It is very funny having such a spotty memory about this because I know which characters die I just cannot remember when. So during their introductions I'm just sitting there like 'Huh. I remember your death scene. Was it the end of this book or the end of the series?'

don't mind me just thinking about how one day when they're older and Adrian decides to propose to Nova he'll probably carry the ring around with him in his pocket for days even though he has a proposal planned at the end of the week because he doesn't want Nova to find it, and if he's ever even in the same room as Maggie during those few days she'll KNOW. she'll be like "why does Adrian have something super expensive in his pocket" to Max and Max, who has seen his brother being extra shady but also extra lovey dovey the past few weeks, will narrow his eyes, and they'll figure it out together and Maggie will have to drag Max out of every room Nova enters because he CANNOT keep secrets from her and her only.

As much as I wanna see the next Renegade book/series focus on Maggie and Mac and take place in the future, I also want to see directly after Supernova. Like, let me see the trial with Nova and if she faces backlash from her team and the renegades. Let me see her slowly regain their trust and watch them become family again. Watch her and Adrian heal their relationship and her figure out her life. I want to see her go to therapy for her entire life’s worth of trauma. Let me read this, instead of characters 6-10 years in the future when they’re all adults.
