just watched weapons 2025 and i really love how unapologetically pro-teacher it is. it really shows the difficult situations that teachers are put in, especially when it comes to unfair demands from a community that refuses to work with you. justine may not be the most well-adjusted person, she has an alcohol problem and gets sexually involved with coworkers and married men, but she’s not a bad teacher and recognizes when alex is struggling even before the 2:17 am disappearance happens. she could’ve skipped town but chose not to because she wanted to find out what happened. maybe her actions in investigating alex are overstepping and read as creepy to outsiders, but the thing is that she’s completely right. as an educator who’s given full responsibility for her kids for such a large fraction of their time, isn’t it right to look for answers? teachers are expected to play a huge part in raising kids but parents get to take the credit for everything good.
but after the children disappear the community is quick to blame her without questioning themselves or if they had missed things going on with their kids. matthew bullies alex without receiving consequences because his dad doesn’t pick up on it. the behavior and care of children in schools should be a conversation between teachers, parents, and the children themselves but instead the parents drop full accountability onto teachers and refuse to take any responsibility for doing that when something happens to their kid.
my mom works in an elementary school and this movie reminded me of her stories of parents making excuses for children who bully others, or being frustrated with teachers when their child isn’t progressing, but at the same time not taking on any of the work at home. weapons does a great job of showing how an inbuilt lack of community between families and educators results in children falling between the cracks and abuse going hidden.
i laugh attractively ONE TIME after the good and honorable knight suffers a lasting wound in the battle against evil and suddenly i’m the bad guy????
Okay so
I've been reading awesome Hollanov fics that are focused on the internets reaction to them (ilyuca81 is my favorite)
And well I kind of always thought that the fake posts from fans about Hollanov is like a made up thing. I mean I thought it was kind of exaggerated I guess?
Like them speculating about Hollanov like every interaction every look and so on
And then I learned about WillMack and went through the tag and damn the posts in the Hollanov fics and the Tumblr Posts with a WillMack tag are so similar
"Most crucially for our purpouse here, you should know that when they're in distress, yellow jackets relase a pheromone to call on potenitially thousands of their angry friends to help them come get you" -"One macabre afternoon to begin" from Plain Bad Heroines.
Something that’ll always be so special to me is how easy it is for Buck and Eddie to love each other.
They fight for each other, they support each other and they confess their feelings and thoughts to each other, sometimes without even thinking about it. They’re each other’s safe space. Buck knows that Eddie doesn’t like to talk about things but Eddie does it for Buck, he talks because he knows that Buck will never judge him for anything that he might feel.
They had beef for 1 (one) whole episode and then they decided to never let go of each other again. Even if they don’t become canon, their love will always be something so sweet and important and heartfelt to be shown between two male best friends on mainstream tv.
I love it
i feel like such a loser when i try to make new friends .. like what if it comes off as a pathetic, desperate attempt at making friends nd they think im a loser ? (i am tbh but that's not the point) what if they think im embarrassing ??? why was i cursed with this issue . wtf is wrong with me ?
so me and my sibling did some test battles with chain incendio vs sword dran. to win you needed 4 points. chain won 3 out of 4 times. in conclusion, Robin could beat Jaxon any day if he locked in
