I can't emphasize this enough: I love brainstorming together for fun, but comments or messages along the lines of "*pushes glasses up* Actually, it's x, y, and z" will simply be deleted. Save yourself the time and energy! (: REMEMBER: these are just my fun notes, not an open invitation for debate. I JUST want a "file" to look back on when the game updates, and I thought it'd be fun to share my thoughts and observations in the meantime—even if I'm 1,000,000% wrong LOL.

1 - Pierrot did something we haven't been shown yet, and it was likely pretty horrific, in-the-wrong, and/or upsetting lol. Everything surrounding Harlequin feels extremely one-sided and... just doesn't add up. We're definitely missing a piece of the puzzle here. The opposite of love isn't hate—it's indifference. Harlequin’s behavior strongly radiates "negative attention is better than no attention at all from my friend." Pierrot is also quite clearly mentally unstable; he could very well have repressed these events or simply refuses to acknowledge them.

2 - An interesting detail to me: It makes sense that the MC needs to be human rather than another monster, as there's a specific lesson for a monster to learn from a human MC... but what makes Pierrot so much more open to humans compared to the others? I feel like this is another crucial piece of the puzzle. I could swear I read somewhere official that we'd eventually get an answer to this. I'll add more thoughts here if I get creative or find what I saw from official sources again, haha.

3 - You cannot convince me Jester isn't guilty as hell, haha. I love stories and games that actually make you think. These could easily turn into characters we end up questioning and disliking as more information comes out. We'll either love them, or grow to love-to-hate them. Either way, I'm going to enjoy them no matter what gnarly details get revealed. Jester 120% pulled the strings behind Harlequin. I feel like the line "I'll feed him..." was taken way too literally by part of the fandom, leading people to assume Jester fed Pierrot his own flesh. Nah—Jester was more like, "I'll make sure this guy gets fed... Harlequin, look me in my big, pretty eyes," lol.

3.5 - Jester being a guilty mf, Part 2: It’s been repeatedly stated and hinted that Jester was a very different person back in the day. (I'm not entirely sure what's strictly from Patreon or not, so I'll watch my phrasing here)... but he definitely didn't always get along with the troupe the way he does now. Which leads right into my next point...

4 - Columbina (precious baby QuQ): She casually drops names and memories in her adorable AMAs without a second thought... which is why I find it so interesting that she's confused by the idea of Pierrot being obsessed with her. But that description sounds an awful lot like someone else she knows, given their history being stated he did not get along well with some of the others due to things (I don't remember if it's from Patreon, so I'll watch my mouth here)... It's easy to assume she was referring to Harlequin based on Jester's Story (and also via multiple unreliable narrators), but going out on a limb here: what if it was Jester? That would explain why he isn't mentioned by name--so that we'd assume it's Harlequin. It's been hinted at that Jester used to be quite aggressive, among other things... He frequently avoids discussing himself and his past (though that could just be a lack of available info, or a matter of who he's speaking to—us versus how he'd talk freely to a trusted friend). Having lost his family and suffered his own trauma, meeting someone as gentle as Columbina—who might not have returned those feelings—and watching others build close friendships with her... I don't know. Just a compelling thought. He's also the ONLY narrator who explicitly mentions love, hate, and jealousy. Visually, it's also fascinating that when he mentions during his story that 'Harlequin' would obsessively/jealously watch Pierrot and Columbina's "romance" from afar... that Jester himself is now standing on stage looking at them and visually ostracized. All by his lonesome—observing "Pierrot" and "Columbina." Part of me is just overanalyzing, but I always feel like artists, writers, and directors rarely include visual details without intent--because it takes effort to put these details there. So... going out on another limb: visually, this just makes me suspect it even more...

5 - Columbina wants to apologize to Jester... intriguing. We've seen several mentions of how hunting and fishing were scarce, and how they described themselves as starving in the wild back then. Food/hunger is ultimately what drove them to make a deal with humans. Maybe Columbina, in her naivety, was the one who stumbled upon the humans and served as the bridge for this proposal? It’d be fascinating if THIS is the reason... or if she simply feels awful for forcing Jester into the position he ended up in. Leaders often have to make horrific choices in desperate situations—especially to protect those they consider family, even at a devastating cost.

6 - Ignore this; I am dumb. Can Jester alter memories? Is Pierrot pushing down memories of what he's done, or was he basically 'volun-told' for the sake of his sanity and peace. Just hmmm... It's also interesting that some stories about the incident are in the circus environment, while others... seem a bit more "free range" or in the past before the circus. Ignore me here though... I need to replay the game.

7 - The food situation & "Fishing": If they lived in the wild and were constantly starving... nature is full of ecosystems, so why couldn't they find game or forage? Or... does "fishing" actually mean going out to lure in humans? I mean... that would certainly explain why food wasn't readily available. But it could also just be a limitation of their monster forms...

7.5 - Contradicting my own previous point: Let's say (like it's been stated) most wild animals are frightened of them, especially in their true forms (since it's stated that animals remain wary of them even in human disguises...). Hunting could have just been genuinely difficult, lol. THAT being said: what if the primary reason monsters consume humans is simply to maintain their more human-like appearances? That would actually be a really neat lore detail. (we also see varying states of human appearances in the Black Tent line... that could potentially back this up. Plus there's been some stuff said / posted by official sources that just gets the brain-cogs rolling here haha) Because if they lived deep in the wilds where "God's eye cannot see," there wouldn't be a human population anywhere nearby. They'd have to be capable of surviving on something other than human flesh in the wild--and only thus having monster-forms. We also don't see any evidence of them taking a human form until after eating the humans during their liberation "at the circus." When they confronted the humans after eating Columbina, they were still very much in their monster forms. It didn't change until afterward.

8 - I'll write more as I think of it. REMEMBER: these are just my fun notes, not my "Contradict me, my dudes" notes. I JUST want to look back on this when the game updates! (:

look guys feral's really had a vice grip on my brain since it first came out almost a year ago and sent me down a rabies rabbit hole but hear me out real quick:

i know that warriors LIKELY takes place in britain / england and they've been rabies-free since 1922 (?) with the last animal importation quarantine was in 1970 (?) but fucking IMAGINE if there was a rabies epidemic. the "bramblestar is rabid" meme from 2019 aside but an honest-to-god rabies outbreak. there was a miniseries called the mad death that aired on bbc in the early 1980s that explored a hypothetical event and government response, but imagine the clans going through that, twoleg intervention and all

cats getting sick and going insane. they're so angry and unpredictable. they have to be sent away and practically imprisoned somewhere they can't get out because they're way too dangerous to be around others. they won't drink. they just foam and jerk around and scream incomprehensibly. imagining young apprentices contracting it (which is absolutely a given, mind you) is bad enough, but what about kits who - starclan forbid - had their parents catch it somehow or are bitten themselves because they're too little to understand the danger or just don't listen to warnings? news about it inevitably getting out at a gathering, and blame is tossed around from the other clans to rogues to kittypets to other predators like foxes and dogs...

twolegs in strange attire have come to the lake. they have strange third arms that produce sudden sounds like thunder and whatever is aimed at them just drop dead and bleed (guns). others set traps, sometimes sick cats are captured while sometimes healthy ones are, regardless they're taken away by the twolegs and never seen or heard from again. the illness spreads. the clans' numbers are dwindling. leaders burn through lives one way or another. warriors and apprentices are constantly on their toes to the point of borderline paranoia. medicine cats are worked to exhaustion. no one wants to guard the sick in their prisons, haunted by their furious screeching and attempts to escape. queens and kits are traumatized. elders start praying that perhaps starclan will collect them soon without it being the work of the disease.

we call it rabies. the clans have no word for it other than madjaw.
