Howdy! I wanted to ask if you use pose references for your drawings (and, if so, where do you find them?). You do such a good job drawing characters interacting with each other while still maintaining each person's correct proportions/the gravity of the pose. I love your art style. :)
Ah thank you - mostly I just draw from my imagination but sometimes I will save pics that inspire an idea in me.
The best thing you can do honestly is to work on your figure drawing skills - i do gesture warm ups every night which helps me keep anatomy fresh in my head using the website Line of Action
Drawing poses from reference is a great way to learn until you're ready to rely more on your imagination. Prompt words and phrases also really help when you're drawing a blank.
For this one I had seen this youtube short so I made a note of it to draw something inspired
Keep a doc or notebook of all your ideas from keywords to full scenarios because sometimes ideas hit when you're not near the computer to work on them and are gone later when you try to remember them
I recommend reffing from photos rather than drawings just because if you're making a literal copy thats plagiarise-y and if there are mistakes in a piece of art you're also carrying it over into your work.
Reference is a great way to learn so you should build folders of ideas and just keep drawing drawing drawing.
I do 20+ pics a week so it beats proportions into my skull whether I want it or not. The more you do something the easier it becomes.
Oh and also - draw as many base sketches as you need before moving on to the actual line art. Do all your proportional corrections in the sketches - im always resizing heads and moving bodies around.
