now that we're on season 4 can someone start writing secret lives of mormon wives femslash i'm tired of pretending i don't think fucking would solve 80% of their problems

This is defiently not the platform this is mostly discussed on, but secret lives of Mormon wives truly showcases how women in power are seen as a threat to insecure men in our society.

These women have become the breadwinners of their household, and, through the entire show, the men have slowly become the downfall or Achilles heel to these woman’s lives.

(Obviously each girls situation is different, especially for Whitney with Connor, he’s pretty great, but for the most part they all share this common theme within their relationships and family dynamics).

Often the women comment on how their husbands have told them they’re not “fulfilling their roles” as a mother and a wife, how the man should run the household. Yet, they themselves are contributing nothing but insults and critiques of the household. They laugh and mock their wives/gfs behind their backs (dadtok trip) and quite frankly show no respect to them as a human being, perpetuating how Mormonism sees wives as an extension of their husbands.

Truly is such an exemplary to how society’s supposed roles and today social climate interact to form what we see unfold on this show and men’s reaction to woman’s growth in independence and self-empowerment.

These women have done so much for themselves in their businesses and social media presence that they should be so proud of and these men should never make them feel unworthy.
