I know as a fact even if I love Zeke as a character, I don't think I would be able to stand in a room with this man and get along with him like at all. Cause he's like everything I would hate in a person. 'i got generational issues and I will essentially double it and give it to the next' kind of guy. The liar kind of guys that can't be very authentic and he litterly fights in a war. But oh as a fictional character, he is so good. Like mentally he conjures up so many pretty illustrations, his character shows the complexity with generational trauma, war, and racism. How life is actually very valuable and beautiful even if it's cruel and painful. I feel like his character dishes out AOT main themes the best. Like completes the story, because no story is good without a good ol' 'villain' or someone to contrast the main characters. Like it's so yummy, yes i will be eating this up.
Maybe if he gets reborn with his past memories I would get along with him then. Because I think if he was given another chance, he probably would be something like freckled ymir, living his new life for himself and be more generally more authentic and have space to heal without war. I can imagine him becoming a book writer personally. Only in this reborn world would I get along with him 😭.
