When you binge read a book and feel simultaneously fulfilled because the story is EVERYTHING and also sad because it’s over. During my travels this past weekend, I listened to the audiobook for @gailcarriger ‘s fantabulous book, Defy or Defend, and finished it in just two days. I ADORE Dimity and Sir Crispin. Throw in a group of deliciously melodramatic vampires going to goth and I’m the happiest little book dragon. If you’re like me and have started to need all the feel-good reads, this book delivers! It’s one of those I wish I could go back and re-experience for the first time. Oh, maybe I should have a special shelf just for those books. Are you going to Katsucon? There is going to be a fun get together of Gail Carriger fans at Katsucon 2020 in National Harbor, Maryland! Those not attending Katsucon can still attend as it is being held outside the convention center. No badge required! See above. Cosplay always encouraged but also not required. Capitol Teas in National Harbor is sadly defunct so we will frolick in sin at Starbucks. Those who wish to sin further may adjourn to Tea Panda for boba, thai ice cream, and other goodies. We shall laugh, drink, be merry, and gossip! If the weather is decent (highly unlikely) we might perambulate along the shore so as not to crowd the stores.
