I saw it again this morning, and I agree it's more enjoyable the second time because I already know it's good. I also noticed loads of bits I missed. Also are we meant to assume Strucker has the scepter because SHIELD=HYDRA? and they gave him it?

I don’t know if this was addressed in AoS, but yeah, I assume that Strucker stole the scepter when HYDRA took over. I know it’s probably just that the writers hadn’t decided that there’s an infinity gem inside the scepter when they wrote the Avengers, but I have to admit that I’m surprised Asgard ever allowed SHIELD to keep hold of the staff when Thor is so eager to take it back home to in AoU.

I kinda feel like his trust in humans has been shaken a little when he goes home at the end of AoU. He trusts Vision because he is not human and there is no doubt in Thor’s mind that he is good, but even though he’s forgiven Tony, I think that SHIELD losing the scepter and the fact that Tony betrayed Thor’s trust by using the scepter to create Ultron has made it harder for Thor to put his trust on humans as easily in the future.

Your posts are what will make me hand the theatre another €6 to see the movie again tomorrow. :P Still confused on many things (Thor's vision, what he's up to when not Avenger-ing, Thor&Jane's status). Hooded figure being Loki - I thought the same.

I think many things are left open enough for people to have different views about them, but I personally do think AoU is based more on the original ending of TDW where Thor became an ambassador for Asgard and a protector of Earth and the other realms. The movie also seems to ignore the ending of Iron Man 3, because didn’t Tony destroy his suits and retire in it? But he’s got a whole new suit and he and Bruce have also built “Veronica”.

I’m not sure how much time has passed between TDW and AOU and at what point did SHIELD dismantle in this timeline, but if I did my math right based on what has been said about the events in different interviews, TWS happens almost right after TDW and Thor has been looking for Loki’s scepter since the ending of TWS because that’s when Strucker got hold of it. And the opening mission in Sokovia is actually the final part of Thor’s mission and the other Avengers are helping him out now that they’ve finally tracked down Strucker.

The dialogue after the mission between Tony and Thor suggests that Thor is going to return home for good now that he’s retrieved the scepter, and the party is kinda like a farewell party. And the final goodbyes at the Avengers Academy definitely make it clear that this team of Avengers is over. Steve and Nat are training a whole new team while Tony and Clint are retiring. And it looks like Thor’s time on Earth and with the Avengers is over now as he must turn his attention to Asgard and the Infinity Gems.

I do wonder how all these characters (and the new ones we haven’t even met yet) all come together in the Infinity War movies? I think Thor will probably be part of the space aspect of the story while Cap and the humans are our link to earth.

I think it was mentioned somewhere that the Maximoff twins were in fact experimented on with the use of Loki's Scepter. Apparently that's supposed to be where she obtained her abilities.

Yeah, I definitely got that impression when I watched the movie again. And then it makes sense why Thor would say that all the visions came from the Mind Gem.

I think that's the best ME DLC, it's so good to see how they all look like a big family, they're more than a simple crew of people working together. And then at the I want to cry because you know what happens next, death, tragedy and pain and no. ;_;

It's one of the best DLCs I've played, like, ever. I'm so glad it exists, because I heard that Bioware had a rushed deadline with the final game which is why they probably couldn't fit all this stuff in the main game even if they had wanted to.

It's just so great to get to hang out with all my favorite characters, because let's face it, it's the large cast of lovable and memorable characters that makes this series so beloved.

The DLC really adds depth to each character and the humor is so welcome since the main game is very serious. OMG I almost peed my pants when drunk Tali started imitating space ship sounds xD Wwuuuwuwuwwuwuw! And Grunt as the bouncer turning away random wannabe party people was also cute.

I'm actually playing through the party twice, because the scenarios change depending on which party theme you start out with.

Wish the weather would make up its mind here - it feels like June one day, November the next. Drives me crazy to know what to wear in the morn. I hope High-Rise & HotS will be as good as the books they're adapted from suggest. Bring them on, 2015!

I haven't read High-Rise and I don't really even know what it's about, but In the Heart of the Sea is a really great book! I'm probably gonna read it again before the movie comes out :)

Heh thanks, though my bday isn't actually for another month :) But it's not something I want to celebrate so I'll probably keep quiet about it once the actual day comes around.

I've barely had time to even look at her because I've been so busy today and I just got home an hour ago, but I hope to start bonding with her in a couple of days (=putting my hand inside the terrarium so she can bite it and hiss at it lol)

I'm really happy to see that she's not as shy as my other geckos were when they were babies. I remember they would hide in their caves and sleeping boxes whenever they saw movement in the room, but little Freija is chilling out in the open right now even though I'm sitting right next to her and typing this response :)
