Pain
It’s over. For good this time. And yet his words are still with me, guiding me in how to let him go. Don’t fight the pain. Let it flow through you. Fighting it only makes it worse. Relax and accept.
Sometimes that’s all you can do with pain. You can’t distract from it or bury it; that only makes it bigger. You just have to feel it. Sit with it. Become friends with it. Hold its hand. The pain means you’re still alive, still dreaming and yearning and growing. The pain holds you and protects you and reminds you that the things you felt were worth feeling. So all you can do is let it flow through you. Then little by little, the pain fades and something else takes its place. A softness or openness. An awakening. The first flickers of hope.
I’ll be quiet for a while. I’ve lost the foundation of who I am as a submissive. I need to be alone for a while until I can rebuild it.
For now, I have the pain to keep me company. And all I can do is relax and accept.
