Hello! Welcome to Old Navy!
Incredibly strange piece of Meet Dave lore we found earlier today that pretty much triggered the interest in opening a blog.
MD had extremely weird marketing, evident by the Giant Eddie Murphy Head that we will get to one day. This is the Meet Dave Active Simulators truck.
Active Simulators seems to be a European based traveling motion simulator company. The website is pretty baron for information, and poking around the rest of the site doesn't really reveal what "Ride the Meet Dave simulator" would entail.
We assume that since the Meet Dave Simulator was a promotional stunt, it probably wouldn't've showed anything that was too much of a spoiler. It's likely that it would've simulated something like Dave falling onto Liberty Island from space as seen in the first few minutes of the film. Apart from this, I wasn't able to find much else about Active Simulators or the Meet Dave Simulator.
Apart from this, there are a few other things in the promotion image of the simulator, like the table with Meet Dave Swag Bags and a small sad replica of the Eddie Murphy head statue. I assume people were supposed to stand inside and lean out to look like the poster image with the crewmates leaning out of his ear.
We would love to get our hands on one of those Meet Dave swag bags... who knows what treasures could lay within. The "RIDE THE MEET DAVE SIMULATOR FOR FREE" sign is also very badass.
I'm half-tempted to send Active Simulator an email with questions but we're not sure if it's appropriate to contact a small company with dumb questions about a movie nobody cares about anymore.
Because I’m still bored here’s 10 more Movies from when I was younger that I vaguely remember watching from off the top of my head:
1. Beethoven 5 (2003) I remember watching these movies and enjoying them but I think the fifth one is the one I vaguely remember the most (why do I find this gif absolutely hilarious?)
2. The Haunting Hour: Don't Think About It (2007) I remember this movie mostly because it had a goth Emily Osment in it and a plant monster I think but Goth Emily Osment is more prevalent in my mind for some reason (I think I might have had a crush on her tbh)
3. Bewitched (2005) I think they were filming something (I think they might have been even filming bewitched itself lol) and hired this chick because she could twitch her nose and the guy later found out it was because she was a witch or something? I know it's based off the old TV show (Will Ferrell!?)
4. Mostly Ghostly: Who Let The Ghosts Out (2008) It's a ghost movie with that chick from the movie The Game Plan in it and a kid who uses the ghosts to do magic tricks at his school
5. Speaking of, The Game Plan (2007) Footballer Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson what more can I say? I actually remember very little besides the fact that it's him taking in his daughter(?) and wacky hijinks ensue as he comes to care for her
6. Read it and Weep (2006) I always thought the actress was from the Halloweentown movies but apparently she isn't. Also don't remember anything except that it has to do with her dead(?) older sisters journal or something like that
7. Stuck in the suburbs (2004) Literally the only part I remember is them bumping into each other and accidentally switching phones (Wait! Is that the chick from above!? Huh)
8. Motocrossed (2001) It's like the movie She's the Man with Amanda Bynes (a girl switched places with her twin brother, which actually, that movie came out after this one...huh) but with dirt bikes. Genuinely do not remember a single thing from this movie
9. The little rascals (1994) Only remember this movie because my family started calling my oldest brother Alfalfa because he would unconsciously twirl his hair when he was hungry and it looked kind of like the character's hair
10. Meet Dave (2008) I clearly remember Eddie Murphy being small, inside a robot version of Eddie Murphy, and taking control of the robot body of Eddie Murphy but nothing else (10 points for that impressive dive though)
