Reorientation Study Group 28/05/17
Okay, so I will catch up on previous study groups but I might as well start with the one that was on discord this morning (it was around 3am here - I will probably never be around on time for that)
What caused you to choose your chapter?
Okay, so using the the chapter system posts on tumblr (esp. x x x) and the explanation on the wiki page (x) I was still rather unsure between Arcalian and Dromeian - I find these two really quite closely related to each other and it was mentioned when I was looking through the discord chat said similar (but I think that’s a general thing rather than a GT thing, generally the GT info is much more helpful than most of fandom is...).
Anyway, I would like to be able to spend my days researching and learning, and i can pretty much talk the hind legs of a donkey if given the chance about pretty much anything from politics and history (especially combined) to certain sports (especially f0rmula 0ne) to, obviously, doctor who - all Arcalian traits. However, I am planning on becoming a teacher rather than a researcher and even my uni course mixes the two - I want to do History and Computing (fit that somewhere). Overall, I felt more drawn to the Arcalian Chapter and meditated upon this choice - which I found a peace with my chosen chapter.
Ranks - How did you get to your current rank, are you happy with it and would you wish to change it?
Okay, so this caught me out a little - I had heard of rings, but I hadn’t really concentrated upon them yet due to the fact I literally joined 3 days ago. Obviously, as this is true, it therefore places me automatically in the Furthest Ring (an associate member) at the moment.
To be honest, I still need to find my place within GT and get used to the idea - I have kinda repressed the idea of being kin with River Song as I couldn’t deal with it and didn’t really understand what the hell it was? So yeah I repressed that a lot (somewhat due to my internal fear that I’m making everything up).
However, I would like to change it when I get more experience within GT and know what I’m doing properly. I know I want to go through the initation progress but this may be a while off yet? It depends upon when I feel I understand enough about the community and am comfortable with everything. This will almost certainly be after September as I need to move?
What is the way you ‘do’ GT and is that your preferred amount of involvement?
At the moment I’m still observing, and understanding what everything is. One day I will definitely become more involved but I don’t know when or how that is going to manifest? I also am really confused spiritually anyway so like it’ll be massively integrated with other stuff too probably if I do use a spiritual path
Similarities between your own answers and others answers?
All of us seem innately drawn to Gallifrey, and a lot of us are kin of people who would reside within the Doctor Who universe (even if they haven’t been seen on screen).
A lot of Arcals seem like they are also considering another path but are innately drawn to the Arcalian chapter (and everyone seems instinctively drawn towards one) which is a big similarity. Those who are new like as me all have similar ideas of ranks within GT - maybe later but I need to know more before moving up in the system. They also seem like they have not decided upon a path on how they ‘go’ GT.
So, yeah, that’s my first GT thing done! I’m really happy with my answers and I think doing this has made me more focused and confident within myself and my relationship with GT (thank you all for running this)!
