there's something so hilariously cartoonish about the thought of Melkor climbing up a tree as fast as possible and just hanging on for dear life at the top.
Telimektar: Melkor, you come down from there THIS INSTANT!!
Melkor: NEVER!!!!!

And behold: Melko, whomto nobody hath explained how miswise was that which came into his mind (or even if Manwë in his patience hath laid those matters before Melko, he would not listen), now aerobracketh with his stupid grinning face, so eager was he to descend into Arda. And lo, all the air spirits saw this and pointed their fingers at him, and recorded his mischief on their phones, and posted it on YouTube, and Melko was gravely wroth and threatened to sue them and Manwë thisfore, but alas! defamation charges had not been invented yet, as those came much later, and they were one of the most brilliant inventions of Feanor, maybe second only to the Silmarils, and they are lost.

Happy new year!
Please be wiser than Melko when doing any pyrotechnics!

I ask you, which Vala is it that lovingly tends to the affairs of the Eruhini? Which Vala is it that, through reviled labour and constant interruptions, has created such a breathtaking variety of beauty in Arda Improved? Melkor the Beautifier, rightful Elder King, mightiest in the circles of the world.
This is how he recruited the Easterlings. Source: trust me guys
But in the north Melko built his strength, and he slept not, but watched, and laboured; and the evil things that he had perverted walked abroad, and the dark and slumbering woods were haunted by monsters and shapes of dread. And in Utumno he gathered his demons about him, those spirits who first adhered to him in the days of his splendour, and became most like him in his corruption: their hearts were of fire, but they were cloaked in darkness, and terror went before them; they had whips of flame. Balrogs were they named in Middle-earth in later days. And in the dark time Melkor bred many other monsters of divers shapes and kinds that long troubled the world; and his realm spread now ever southward over Middle-earth.

Oh god the Charmed reboot. Biggest disappointment ever. Nico and Mel were IT but even when they got ruined I still had hope. But the show really squashed that too like they never tried with Mel at all. In their defense though all the post season 1 relationships were subpar at best. I remember thinking Mel would finally have something with Kat, the pretty witch shop owner but then they made her crazy and shipped her away???? What the hell. And her next love interest couldn’t even touch her lol like say you don’t want to show gay intimacy without saying you don’t want to show gay intimacy! And don’t even get me started on the wasted chemistry between Macy and Abigail who were reduced to fighting over Harry like yuck. That show literally flopped on all fronts 😐
I dipped after season two, episode one, but I KNEW it kept getting worse bc then all I ever saw on the dash was Abigail content 🤣
ALSO… and since I had an anon that read my Charmed fics and my New Amsterfam fics… never forget the work Shiva has done for us
Kind of wild to think about very early Book of Lost Tales versions of Angband as Angamandi, the hell where it was seemingly acceptable and expected that torment would take place under Melko, for mortal souls essentially sentenced to hell (by Fui/proto-Nienna??)
Of course that version didn’t last and it becomes a site of evil that must be destroyed, etc etc. But that it once appeared in the cosmology as an accepted part of the infrastructure of afterlife justice? for mortals? wow
