Considering your trick or treating events with claude, did you do anything fun like that at the academy on april fools day?
I personally did nothing. I’ve made my sentiments on April Fool’s known. Fewer students were on campus at the time, as classes were not yet fully in session and travel arrangements were still underway, so there weren’t many people present to contend with.
Claude, however, was there because the House Leaders were considered a priority for Garreg Mach. That was why I was there along with Lady Edelgard, Dimitri, Dedue, Hilda, Lorenz, and Claude. I understand Count Gloucester called in some favors to have his son in the advance group as well. Between the impish impulses of Hilda and Claude, they had no small amount of delight inflicting pranks on the rest of us equally.
I’ll grant them that... Title and rank spared no one. Lorenz was kept in the dark about it, as far as I’m aware, and I believe Dedue simply told them Dimitri’s boundaries in advance so any childish antics would not go too far. I did the same for Her Majesty, so it would not surprise me if that rumor turned out to be true.
While I disapprove of the practice, I understand my opinion is not universal. Dimitri and Lady Edelgard, while exasperated, did seem almost relieved to not be above such things.
Sylvain, I heard the news about your relationship with Felix. Does this mean you will no longer be competing with me over the ladies? If that is the case, then that will be a shame. I must admit, I did quite enjoy seeing you fail so miserably at times. Ah, but oh well. I suppose that means I won't have to worry about you scaring them off, then. -Lorenz
Hey, Lorenz! You heard right, I’m happily with the man of my dreams. Still single over there, I take it? What a shame no one sees what a catch you are, Lorenz. Must be the purple prose, self-importance, and ostentatious air you refuse to get rid of. I’m sure you’ll make do with the front-row seat to your own failures.
The real question is how you’ll handle it when you still can’t get a girl and I’m not there for you to blame. Excuses aren’t very noble, Lorenz.
hopefully none of your agents suspect Bernadetta in this string of crimes committed by a purple-haired entity...right? Right?
They know better than to suspect based on hair color alone. If that were so, why not Lorenz or Yuri? No, there must be more substance behind their theory than the circumstance of one’s hair color. I’m certain that Bernadetta would be far more cautious if she were to go one a crime spree.
Hubert you would be a way cuter and handsomer noble than Lorenz.
Don’t draw me into this. Lorenz can be rather intense, and I would much prefer not to be involved in his pursuits of handsome nobility. I have my own causes that are wholly distinct from his own. While I can’t say it is intentionally separate, it is quite convenient. I would like to keep it that way.
Oh no, watch out! This bull escaped from the stables! And it's coming straight towards Lorenz's china collection! What should we do?
What we had a bull for, I can only imagine--
Take what you can of the china, side step the bull, and run in the opposite direction. Their turn radius is limited. If it closes in, zig zag to disrupt the beast. I will handle the rest. Get yourself to safety above all else, and ensure Lorenz doesn’t come to check on his china. He may fuss about it, as his noble sensibilities decree.
A pair of scuttling footsteps approaches the closed door. Faintly, the sound of a young woman taking a deep breath, and then three knocks.
Bernadetta stands in Hubert’s doorway, clutching what appears to be an empty bag to her chest.
“Um. I hope this isn’t a bad time…! But. Th-thanks for talking to Ferdinand for me. He gave me my bag back, see?” To illustrate this point, she shows Hubert her horse feed bag, customized with many yellow and purple flowers and an elaborate letter B.
“A-also,” she gulps, “I hope that whatever happened with Lorenz wasn’t….too much trouble. I probably should have handled it on my own but he doesn’t listen to me! But…b-but I haven’t seen him even once since I wrote to you. Not even when we’re doing drills. Did you…um. Is he…”
Bernadetta takes another deep breath and then, all at once, “Ireallyreallyhopeyoudidn’tkillhimbecauseofme!!!”
She gulps. “Um. Sorry. But…did you? Is he demoted? Or….um….a-anyway if this is a bad time Bernie will leave! I know you would rather not spend time with me.”
If it was a bad time, I wouldn’t have answered.
I’m simply glad to be of service. Ferdinand is amenable to most fair requests, and I expected he would return your bag promptly. It’s quite well crafted. Your embroidery skills have developed even further over the years, which is an impressive feat in light of our circumstances. Sparing time for the arts is commendable.
In any case, Lorenz is hardly too much trouble for me. There’s not much the heir to House Gloucester could manage that would present a challenge. He is rather persistent, and it was wise of you to call on me when it became evident he wouldn’t listen. For someone with notable grades, he can be rather... obtuse.
But no, he’s not dead. Yet. Heh.
Neither is he demoted. He merely said he was sorry and would reflect on his wrongdoings. I assume it’s taking him some time, since he must first overcome the nonsensical drivel that he was subject to as a noble descendent. Only then can he make true progress. Ferdinand insists Lorenz is more than capable, and he’s rarely wrong about such matters.
...Of course, I don’t have much time to spare. Forgive me if this gives the impression that I do not wish to be in your company. Truthfully, I was of the opinion it was you who did not wish to see me on account of being terrified.
