Is there any reason why my Meowstic and Whimsicott are so close? Like, at this point I'm pretty sure they're best friends and (might?) Have feelings for one another. I just don't get it. Is this normal for Pokémon to have deeper feelings for one another?

Relationships between different 'mons of the same egg group are not that uncommon (although not really seen in the wild); but it's unusual for 'em to display courtship behavior for a 'mon of a different egg group like in this case!

But, 'Mons that live in the same household or are on a battling team do form deep bonds with each other, especially if they have similar social structures, so it's not unheard of! Whimsicotts and Meowsticks don't really interact in their natural habitats, but Whimsicotts are very friendly and social guys, and it's common for 'em to be friendly with other team members. Depending on your Meowstick's gender, they might find the Wimsicott as a partner that supplies the social awareness they lack, or another caring friend!

I was on a roll at this time. All Pokemon trainers, all the time! and it was so much fun!! I had a blast with all the vibrant colors.

Also, up until this I have never properly drawn Pokemon - I did it passably well, but these are the first ones I felt I could say ‘good job’ to myself about XD

Yo, Ellie! for the Side Cast Week promp, would you mind doing Elaine vs Nadja? :3 Meowstic vs Vivillon!

NNT Side Cast Week Day 7: AU/Bonds

Thanks so much for organising this week @princessfroslass - it’s been so much fun! Have saved your request till last :) - I thought you meant Nadja to have the Meowstick so I did it that way sorry!! Hope you like this anyway.

Nadja is fed up. She’s been cooped up in Liones castle for years and she just wants a bit of adventure. One day, she sneaks through the gates dressed as a maid, her distinctive hair covered. She wanders around and finds herself in the fairy king’s forest, standing in front of a glowing lake.

Elaine appears before her at once. “So you have come to steel the fountain,” she intones. “N-no,” replies Nadia. “I just came for a walk. I’m so bored and lonely, my brothers ignore me. I just wanted to get away for a bit.”

Elaine understands at once. “You cannot stay here human, but would you like a Pokémon battle before you go?” Nadja readily assents, and her Meowstick purrs, ready to go.

Nadja looks up as Vivillon flutters down from the trees to hover in front of Meowstick. “Use Struggle Bug,” Elaine commands. Meowstick is hit, her special attack power falling and Nadja grits her teeth, commanding her Pokémon to use Future Sight.

Elaine’s eyes widen; she knows exactly what that move does. Determined to finish the fight as quickly as possible she yells, “Stun Spore,” deciding that she will try and prevent Meowstick from doing her Pokémon any damage. “Dodge it!” cries Nadja and Meowstick leaps into the air, avoiding the spores that float down to the ground and disappear. Nadja commands Meowstick to use Disarming Voice and Vivillon is hurt.

“Hurricane,” breaths Elaine and Meowstick and Nadja are blown backwards, Meowstick taking a lot of damage. Nadja asks her Pokémon to counter with Psychic and the move hits. Both Pokémon are very week.

Elaine asks Vivillon to use Draining Kiss which robs Nadja’s Meowstick of her last drops of health. As the Vivillon starts to absorb the health however, the Future Sight falls taking out Vivillon. Elaine has technically won the match as Meowstick fainted first, but Elaine puts an arm around Nadja’s shoulder and calls it a draw.

Nadja goes back to Liones, happy to have made a friend who understands her.
