Arthur getting Merlin a Yule/Christmas gift his first year as a servant

Merlin is just like??? What is this?? Because he and Hunith were always too poor to exchange real gifts

Merlin is just so touched that Arthur would think of him? Like maybe he misjudged this man??

Arthur’s just like yeah whatever but internally he thinks it’s adorable that Merlin is so excited

So then Merlin feels guilty about not getting Arthur anything so he writes him a heartfelt letter (because he sent all his money to Hunith) and gives him a (gasp) hug!!

And then it’s Arthur’s turn to cry because no one has ever spent a genuine Christmas/Yule with him and gotten him a thoughtful gift and he just can’t handle this cute lil manservant who suddenly showed up and started to care for him

Conspiracy Theory!

Kilgharrah used Merlin to wipe out the Pendragon line.

Here’s the evidence

Kilgharrah was always cryptic about how arthur was supposed to bring about the golden age

He made Merlin care about Arthur at the cost of even his friends (Freya, Will, Lancelot, heck even Balinor after Arthur told him that he wasn’t worth his tears)

He literally put Merlin in an abusive friendship so it would eventually lead to Arthur’s death?? Don’t get me wrong arthur cares about Merlin but the way he treats him sometimes is NOT healthy

He repeatedly brainwashed Merlin until he completely isolated Morgana and poisoned her, turning her against Camelot

Also, Kilgharrah was the one to suggest killing Morgana without telling her? If Merlin has just explained to her that Morgause has betrayed her and put a spell on her without her permission which was literally going to kill people she cared about (not just Uther) then she would’ve been like yeah hand over the poison I’ll do if myself

He literally tries to destroy Camelot and almost kills Arthur in the process??? And he would have done it if Merlin hadn’t stopped him

All his information comes at a price- Merlin must free him (which is his chance to kil Uther and Arthur)

He turns Merlin against Mordred very early on. Let’s face it. Merlin turned Mordred into what Kilgharrah said he was. Mordred was so loyal and kind but Merlin was so brainwashed and obsessed that he broke that poor kid

Kilgharrah literally just?? Lets Aithusa go??? And blames Merlin for letting her fall into the hands of Morgana?? Which lets her forge a sword to kill Arthur?? (I’m telling you, this was planned!!! Kilgharrah has so much free time so if he actually cared about Aithusa he could’ve gone looking for her and most definitely would’ve found her)
