Even better, bending isn’t a thing on earth but lance (or maybe it’s a family thing) has the ability to waterbend but they hide it from the world and Lance refuses to blood bend ever again after accidentally hurting his family, no one from his family has ever blood bended, they didn’t know it was even possible. [could also make it so he avoids normal water/ice bending too because of a similar accident]
Hunk knows, he knows about the blood bending and knows why lance refuses to dabble in it ever again. He respects lances secret even in the war as paladins until one ground mission goes wrong and they’re faced with too many galra than they can handle. Hunk shouts at lance that he’s their last chance to the confusion of the team as Hunk never yells like that and they have no clue how lance of all people could get them out.
