It's a box! Or more accurately a box made up of minor mistakes. Been working on improving my dovetails and trying out some extra flourishes with the lid and base. It's kinda a mini version of the school box described in the Joiner and Cabinet maker. (Which incidentally,the full sized one is next on my project list.).

Overall the base moldings ended up a bit too wide so it looks a tad awkward. Also I didn't want to spend anymore time finishing it so it likely needs another coat or two of shellac.

1.) Newish Account Manager has decided that in light of adopting a new puppy, she needs to work from home for awhile to help the new pup get acclimated. No idea if she ran this by anyone, but just a friendly reminder that I approached Manager with a proposal to work remote so that I can care for my disabled father, and also checked in with the team and mapped out days based on when it’s beneficial to be in the office. So I sent out a bitchy “I know this isn’t as important as a new puppy, but I’ll be caring for my dad on Thursdays” note to the my department. Team Messy Bench/Petty Bitch!

2.) Our Associate Creative Director needed to run his son to school because his wife, a SAHM, had a dentist appointment, so he let us know he’d be in a little later than usual today, nbd (truly). Work Brother got weirdly excited for him. “Oh, I’m so glad he’s able to be a dad this morning and take his son to school!” I just lost it. “OK, we get it, you guys are parents so you’re more important than everyone else!”

3.) I might need a nap because hooooo my god am I being a brat today.

Been working on a bunch of random projects recently and haven't really finished any of them... Got a nice make your own backsaw kit, been trying to get decent at saw sharpening, working on some jigs for making some stakes furniture, and been working on improving my hand cut dovetails. Also been reading some great books from Lost Art Press, the Anarchist Design Book and the Joiner and Cabinet maker have been adding tons of fun ideas of things to make.
