Put together the frame for the coat rack. Used some cherry and some very simple hand cut dovetails. Pretty happy with how it turned out.
The finish is still drying but it's complete.

I've been teaching myself hand tool woodworking in an effort to really improve my skills. So I made this keepsake box for a dear friend. I visited her last weekend and had the best time ever.
I didn't use any power tools or fasteners. Just wood, glue, finish. It is made out of white oak and walnut for the little carved handle in the tray part. Cutting dovetails is challenging but very fun. It's nice to reconnect with the parts of making stuff that I really enjoy and finding new things to get excited about.

Some tool restorations from this year;
In the last pic I realized the handle was scratched so I replaced it with a spare one I had lying around
Ingredients used:

50 grit sandpaper
Linseed oil
Beeswax
If anyone knows any other rust-off methods let me know
Since wrenching on 🚁, I have learned and gained the magic power of the Knipex pliers. They're a little pricey, so I dont yet have a full set, but they're an unknown backbone of society fr.
"Pretty sure that bolt/nut duo is a 13 mm socket and a knipex" is said probably 5 times a day. Helps keep guessing & return trips back to the hangar/toolbox low.
Maybe I'll turn this into a sticker :3
